[Chapter Twenty]
Just coming out of his classes, Cedric really wasn't expecting to come upon a pacing Milo back in the dorms, but as he went to find his boyfriend, he found Milo practically walking circles in the middle of his dorm room. Paden, Dougal, and Linet were seated on his bed, their eyes following him, and by the looks of it, Dougal was becoming dizzy, meaning that Milo had probably been at his pacing for quite some time. It didn't help that the boy was also talking to himself, leaving Cedric to lean against the frame of the doorway, looking on with concern. Eventually, Cedric gave in, knowing he had to interfere and put a stop to it.
"Um, is everything okay, Handsome?" he called out, but his question of concern didn't go over as well as he had hoped. Startled, Milo let out a yelping sound as he attempted to spin around, only to trip over his own to feet and hit the floor. Cedric already knew the answer to his question, just by that reaction alone, but at least he had stopped Milo from pacing around as Dougal finally flopped back to regain focus.
"Milo, what's wrong?" Cedric asked him once more, wanting to figure it out before they were met with other students filing in after practice.
"Wrong?" Milo repeated looking up at him. "Who said anything was wrong?! Why would anything be wrong?!"
"Oh, sweet Merlin," Cedric sighed, placing his hand over his face. "Milo, have you looked in the mirror lately? Clearly, something is wrong, it's written all over your face-"
Suddenly, something Cedric said seemed to make all the difference in Milo's mind as his facial expression changed drastically. "That's it! That's the answer! The mirror!"
Scrambling to his feet once more, Milo made his way over to Cedric, grabbed him by the face and kissed him hard before practically pushing his boyfriend away and carrying on with whatever thought process he had come up with in the short amount of time. Meanwhile, Cedric was left in a stunned state after the kiss, leaving him completely still in the middle of the room. Milo had never really taken to kissing him like that before, usually, his kisses were gentle or playful. But for Milo to just kiss him like that and walk off on another mission, left Cedric beyond frustrated and flustered.
But he was going to have to put his urges aside in that moment as Milo returned from his trunk, carrying the two-way mirror that had been gifted to him and Harry. He was pulling off the satin wrapping that he had placed around it before, turning it over to summon Sirius or someone, only to be left with a bewildered look on his face.
"Milo, what's wr-"
Before Cedric could ask what was wrong again, Milo motioned him to be quiet before waving him over. Following orders, he made his way over to stand next to Milo, only to see what had made his boyfriend make such a face. Apparently, in the midst of all the stressful situations that the members of the Orders had been under, they really needed to figure out a way to lighten the mood.
