I watched as Ryder still hung on the wall, looking more defeated as time goes by. Nothing seemed to be happening. Whatever was keeping us was not in the room now, having left what I could only guess was six hours ago, after mentally draining Ryder until he, at last, fell asleep. I finally stopped fighting my restraints and now sat in the chair watching him. Listening to his breaths as they continued at a steady pace. He had screamed and fought the restraints for a while and even after losing his voice continued screaming, a scratchy sound the only thing coming from him. He finally wore himself into a sleeping state. I looked down at the ground having thrown up the contents of my stomach onto the ground by my feet after hearing his final scream and looking at two dead friends hanging beside him.
He woke up with a jolt, his head shooting up so I could finally see his entire face. His nose was broken and shifted out of place, his left eye was bloodshot while the other was red from crying so much, his face was cut and bruised and stained with tears. He coughed and it sounded like nails on a chalkboard. He looked around and after finding that the captor wasn't there. He looked over to our friends and hung his head again before he began talking. It was so quiet I almost missed his words, but after hearing them I wish I hadn't heard a thing.
" Hey guys, how is it for you. I'm happy you're not here to endure any more of this," he paused and took a breath before continuing, " I'm sorry I wasn't good enough to protect you all from this. From that thing. I'm sorry you both had to go through that pain and that I wasn't able to do a damn thing to stop it," he paused again before continuing, " I miss you guys. I miss you so much. I know that you're in a better place, well better than this at least," he looked to Lillian's body and continued, " She loved you. You were her sister and partner in crime. She looked up to you so much. The fact that she is going to have to find out about this will break her but know that she loved you so much," he then looked past her to Justyn's body, " And you were like her older brother. She is who she is because of you and even if she never said it to you, she always appreciated the times you helped her through whatever was going on when she trusted no one else to," he stopped and hung his head low and took a one last shaky breath before finishing, " You two were her lifeline. She stayed here for you guys because she knew the world couldn't handle just you two. You guys were her family and you mean the world to her. She is going to tear down the gates of heaven looking for our damn bodies then kill God just for looking twice at us. I'm sorry I couldn't have done more to save you, but I'll see you soon I guess." and with that last sentence his voice broke and he went back to staring at the floor as more tears fell from his forever red eyes. He didn't expect to make it out of here alive and to be honest, even if it tore me apart to think about, neither did i. Just looking at Lillian and Justyn I knew that neither of us were making it out alive from this.
Suddenly I heard the scraping sound of the metal on stone and tears began to fall as I thought of my friends having that be the last things they heard. How they're not going to get to hear their loved ones say I love you anymore, won't be able to hear each other laugh, or be able to hear the dumbass conversations that our group would always have. They won't get to hear anything else, but the last thing they heard were those sounds and it was like my heart was breaking even more. I'll never get to hug them again, or playfully fight with them, I won't get to do anything but look at there dead bodies hanging from the wall and that will be the last thing I see. If I was free Ryder was right, I would rip the gates of heaven clean off and kill whatever God was up there after killing the creature. There would be no mercy and there would be no sparing of lives until I found what I was looking for.
I sat in that damn chair as Ryder cried and screamed and fought against the restraints even more like he would have more of a chance than he did last time. I looked down at what my own fighting had done and though thankfully I couldn't feel physical pain id rather feel that to know what the others felt like. The restraints had cut straight through to the bone and were now cutting into the bone of my wrists. My blood was flowing free and onto the ground in what had to be an endless supply as I had bleed enough for six people between my wrists and ankles. I watched as Ryder began to try and stand and move his legs around. They looked pretty beaten up and by the way he held his left leg up it was either broken or fractured but it was certainly injured. I was about to try and turn to see if i might be able to see the thing that was doing this when it moved into the light in front of Ryder. He flinched and sank back down to his knees. They just stared at each other, well Ryder stared at it as the creature, I had found out, had no eyes. It looked like they were almost trying to communicate and I assume I was proved right when Ryder began talking like he was responding to a question.
