Nightmares Within Me

Final Night of Part 2

When I woke up it was like no one had moved. Ryder was in his chair, Nathan against the wall, the group in a line, and I was chained on the wall again. No slack in my chains. Justyn woke up next, then Nathan, then everyone else. When we were all awake, Mes made her appearance. She wasted no time and plucked the first kill of the day out of line. It had to be at least twelve in the afternoon by now. She yanked James from his place in line and pushed him towards me. He looked at me apologetically as he took a hatchet and threw it into my arm. I cried out but shut my mouth fast. James turned to Mes and held his head high and proud and she approached him. She simply laughed and decapitated him. His head rolled to my feet and stayed there. I shook, beginning to tremble as i looked at it. I kicked it away towards Nathan and he disposed of it immediately. She laughed and looked around the group. I closed my eyes and waited. My heart dropped the next second.

"Open your eyes babe. Please open your eyes." I broke and opened my eyes. The tears began falling. He smiled lightly. "There are those beautiful eyes I love so much," he whispered. I sobbed. "Hey, it's going to be ok. Don't worry. Look at me." I looked him dead in the eyes. Nathan had turned away at this point. He refused to watch. I could see him tensing, wanting to kill Mes but knowing no one could do anything.

" I love you," he said. I nodded. H knew what I meant. "Hey look at it this way. I get to see everyone and wait for you. I'll be safe, everyone is safe," he said. I stopped crying and calmed down. He had a knife in his hand. He had talked to distract me.

" Keep me distracted love," I said teasingly trying to get him to laugh one more time. It didn't work but he smiled. He walked closer and cupped my cheek like I had done to his just the other night. Then he kissed me, and as he did he slid the knife into my heart. I knew he would do that, I saw it. He was going to piss Mes off.

" You idiot! I said no killing blows!'" she screamed. Ryder turned to her and she threw a knife into his chest, He screamed in pain and collapsed to the floor, dead. Suddenly a wave of heat and fire scorched the entire room killing Bennett, Josiah, and Nathan. She came up to me and got a few last cuts and slashes in before i started seeing stars.

"Ha, bitch. Looks like you're plan didn't quite turn out did it? That's got to be a fucking shame," I said which only made her more upset. She began to punch me over and over. I simply closed my eyes and let the world fade away. I saw everyone standing in the field we began in, holding hands and hugging each other. Then they all turned to me and Ryder held out a hand. I looked down and I was no longer restrained. I walked to my family and then it all went black.

As you can see this is quite a bit shorter than what i normally write. I normally write something that is way beyond the 100-word marker but this is only coming in at around 600. I decided to slip this Part a lot shorter than it was in my nightmare because it was hard for me two write as i hope you understand. Right now is a hard time. Kat, the character in the book, was a real person and a close friend who died in January and two days ago as the date this was uploaded was her birthday siyits been challenging to write, also with my back injury i can only sit at a desk so long without being in immense pain. So thank you for reading this still and i should be starting Part 3 soon and have a chapter uploaded my May 9th at least.
