Nightmares Within Me

Night 3 Part 3

I was woken up by Alex poking the side of my leg with his gun. I lifted my head and opened my mouth to yell at him when he covered my mouth. I opened my eyes the rest of the way and had to blink a couple times to see right. All the lights were off and it was quiet. You could hear a few breaths here and there. Everyone was awake and alert. I looked around and was finally starting to see things. Lillian was gripping her gun like she was trying to kill it, along with everyone else. I started to panic and looked around for Ryder. I couldn't find him and he wasn't at the watch post. Alex seemed to catch on to what i was looking for.

" He went to do another sweep. There was a loud sound and everyone woke up. He told us to stay quiet and watch everything," i calmed down a little but i was definitely awake. I went to sit up and Alex grabbed my leg.

" I'm going to go take up watch. Someone needs to make sure no one comes around the corner," he nodded and then Lillian grabbed my hand squeezing tightly. I squeezed back and pointed to her gun, the safety was on. She turned it off and kept her finger about the trigger just like i showed her. I nodded and then went and sank into a kneeling position. I leaned forward just enough to look around the corner of the kitchen into the living room. THe front door was open and there was a figure walking inside. It definitely wasn't Ryder.I sank back around the corner and did a head count. Minus Ryder and myself we were all here. I motioned everyone to move around the other side of the island and followed them, hiding around the corner. Nicoli came into the kitchen. He didn't look through the entire thing but turned back into the living room and went to his computer. It was just out of my sight which meant he couldn't see us either. I moved to the other side of the island close to the table which got me a view into the living room without being seen.

Coming down the stairs with five walkie talkies in had was Ryder. I stood up and scooted far enough back that i knew nicoli wouldn't see and i began to try and get his attention. He was turning the corner of the stairs, having one more flight to go when he saw me. I began pointing to where his hands desk was and watched RYder drop. I could tell he was heading back up the stairs and i dropped back down to as i saw the glow from Nicoli's computer turn off. I watched as he looked back into the room we were in one more time before going up stairs. Once he turned the corner i decided the kitchen was to dangerous and so i quietly moved back and unlocked the slider door. People began to file out until i was the only one left along with Ryder who still hadn't shown yet. I began to worry. I looked around and saw Justyn calming Lillian down, Gavin calming Grace down, and Austin talking to Bennett and James about something that looked important so i gave in and picked from who was left since my team wasn't available.

" Eric, Alex. On me," they both followed close behind. Eric was in the middle of the break away line because he didn't have a gun and Alex was taking up the back. Once we made it to the stairs i started to shake. THere was blood on a couple of the steps. I bent down and found out it was fresh.

I got Alex and Eric's attention and showed then. THey nodded. I took a deep breath and looked back to the top of the second floor. I was visibly shaking now. I felt a hand on my left shoulder and turned to see Alex looking at me. He squeezed my shoulder, threw his had back on me and nodded. With that i began to go up the stairs, they boys following close behind. One we made it up Ethan broke away to search Nathan's room. We had trained him on knife combat so he could hold his own for a few minutes at least. We passed Nicoli's again closed door and found Ryder's open. It hadn't been before. I looked back at ALex and pointed there. He nodded and as we past he broke away, giving my shoulder one last squeeze. I continued forward to search the bathroom. THe door was half closed so i pulled all the way to the left and stuck the barrel of my gun inside. Nothing grabbed it so i lightly pushed the door open with my foot. It opened all the way. I went in and checked the shower and found it clear.

I hear a quick noise form Ryder's room, not loud enough to alert Nicoli if he was in his room but enough for me to hear. I saw Eric coming towards Ryder room and motioned for him to slow down and wait and well go in together. He nodded so he came in pressed on my back and i got in to see Alex having Ryder in a hold to where he couldn't move or make a sound. I had him turn Ryder around. His eyes were bloodshot and darting everywhere. I know what he had taken, just not how much.

" Hold him. Don't let him move or make a sound. I don't wanna hurt him but to get him outside with everyone else we have to be careful," i whispered. Alex nodded and i turned to Eric, " Eric i need you to go downstairs and get a glass of water and bring Justyn back up with you. Have him take point. Go now, and be careful," he nodded and left. I looked back at Alex, " Get a good hold on him and don't let him move. Hes strong. Use the bed for leverage if you have to just don't make a sound," he nodded and backed up against the bed and taking a stronger hold on Ryder. Eric got back with Justyn and the water.

" Good. Justyn, be ready to help Alex move him downstairs and outside. He is going to fight so make it as easy as possible," once i finished that Ryder began to fight Alex. He was thrashing and moving everywhere using every available limb to get at Alex, " Nevermind. Alex knock i'm out. Cut his air off enough to make him pass out. Don't kill him," i said. Ryder immediately began to claw at ALex's hand and a look off terror sank into his eyes. A look i had seen before, in the cell while that creature tortured him. I turned away and Justyn came and hugged me. He let me go and i turned around. I looked Alex in the eye not wanting to look at Ryder.

" He's breathing," he assured me. I nodded.

" Eric you're taking up the back. Be careful. I'm taking point. Let's go ,we have been here to long," i said. I looked out to see Nicoli's door still closed. I began to move knowing Alex. Justyn, and the passed out Ryder were following along with Eric. We made it all the way outside quietly, together, and without incident. Austin and Gavin were immediately there asking what happened. We were all whispering as we spoke.

" He took a lot of Adderall," i said, then i turned to the boys, " Put him down and keep him propped on his side," then i ran in and grabbed a spoon from the kitchen. I got back out and made sure Eric was ready with the water. I shoved the spoon down Ryders throat and immediately his eyes shot open and he began gagging. He eventually threw up a couple times, six undissolved pills coming up. I hit him on the head then got up and Eric handed him the water. I went and sat behind everyone, watching the door with my gun ready. Ryder seemed to be recovering well enough. He had at least a pill's worth of Adderall in his system so he was going to be sleeping for a while meaning i was taking watch.

I began to notice that it had been night this entire time and it didn't look like it was going to lighten up any time soon. A continuous dark, no light except that of the moon, stars, and street lamp. Justyn and Alex came and sat next to me after Ryder had finally falled asleep. We had two people stationed with i'm around the clock so watch him/ Justyn and Alex each put an arm around my shoulders and we sat there as people fell asleep and when they to grew tired they laid on the ground my my feet and fell asleep each after making sure i was ok. Lilian came over and slept next to Jusytn and Eric and Gavin watched Ryder. Austin came up and took up guard with me for the time and we just sat there in a comfortable silence as we watched the group and the house.
