Nightmares Within Me

Night 6 Part 2

As the day faded and dusk began to set in the time for it to come back got closer so I stood from where I was sitting and stretched myself out and cracked a couple things before looking down at Nathan. He looked back up and me and smiled. He looked a little like Ryder, not a whole lot, but I could tell more now than I could earlier. I didn't know Nathan very much, I probably had had one to two conversations with him but he seemed ok enough. He stood with me and we looked out to the group.

" I know I have asked before but I need to again. Look after them as well as you can without it realizing what you're doing,"I said. He nodded but spoke.

"You know this is all a nightmare," he tried to reassure me.

" Yes but I don't know what will happen after it kills me, if I'll go back to spectating or if it'll be over," I said. Nathan nodded.

" If it's spectating I'll watch them, I'll still b able to see you but I'll watch over them when I can. Just don't show it fear in the end, go out strong," I nodded and with that, i walked to the group, to where I would meet it. Nathan stayed back at the tree line, hanging back till he was needed.

As I got closer to the group one by one people turned to look at me and silence fell. Half of them had hatred and fear written plainly on their faces while others had sadness and understanding. I got to the center of the group and was surprisingly put together. I looked to Austin who looked like he was about to cry. Justyn had his hand on his shoulder, not only comfort but holding him back and he glared at Ryder. Those were the only two people who believed in me now and that was all the hope that I needed that I was doing the right thing. I walked over to Austin and hugged him.

" Don't let this tear you two apart. Fear is natural. It's only normal for him to be scared of what he never knew. Just remember what I'm doing is not his fault. I choose to do this," I hugged him and he squeezed me like he could hold me to this earth with just that. I laughed and let go. Justyn was next. The one who never ever broke, who didn't show emotion was broken and in tears. I walked up to him and looked him in the eyes. I could see hurt in his eyes, and fear but not of me.

" Child, you have officially lost a bet. I have to get there before you," he cried harder, " just take care of her once I'm gone. You and Austin are the only people giving me hope and I need you strong cuz son enough Austin will break and I need you there for him,"I hugged him and he was shaking. I started crying. Dammit. I held on for as long as time restraints allowed before letting go and turning to Ryder and his followers.

Ryder had so much hate in his eyes I no longer cared that I loved him. He could deal with his problems after I left so I walked up to Lillian. Justyn was right behind me and when she began to back away he held her in place. The only thing he would force her to do when she didn't want to was listen to this and not run.

" Six years. You have been my sister for six years and nothing, not even you being terrified of me will change that. I didn't cause anyone's death, no one's life is on my hands. Am I pissed cuz I couldn't do anything, fuck yes, but it's not on me. Soon you'll realize that and so remember, I don't care that you're scared. I forgive you. I love you. Live happily and remember me however you want, just don't forget me. SHort and sweet cuz I don't have much time." Justyn let her go and she turned right into him and hugged him, still terrified of me. I skipped the rest of the group and went right to Ryder, they had all backed up to far and I didn't have time to chase them down and force them to hear me. He didn't move, he wasn't like that, but if a look of hate could kill I'd be dead a hundred times over now.

" You may not be clear-minded now and you're scared. You don't show it but I know you are, you're scared of me. Once I'm gone and if you come to and remember then know I love you and don't care that this was the last thing between us cuz I get to see you. I want you to remember it's ok you were scared and that Nathan was never trying to hurt us, he was forced and playing a role the other half, but he is with you. He is protecting you. I love you," he only huffed. His arms were crossed over his chest and he was ridged. He wouldn't budge. I sighed and walked off. I could hear Justyn behind me and Austin in front of me. Then it came, right up behind Austin.

This time it had a voice, everyone could hear it.

" I'm not here for anyone but the one person chosen," it said. Austin made a move to walk forward but I grabbed him and handed him to Justyn who held him to the ground. Autin fought and struggled.

" This is not for you to do," I whispered sadly as I walked forward.

" I chose myself. You can have me. Do what you want to me," I said and that sadistic smile, the one that caused me to hear chains, returned. But this time it wasn't my memory that caused me to hear chains. The field had shifted and warped into the concrete cell from the beginning. I looked around, this time I was the one on the wall and everyone else was watching. Ryder, though, was the only one that I could see. I knew everyone else was there, behind the barrier like I had been but it wanted to hurt me to the maximum so it tied Ryder off to a chair like it had me in the beginning and I took Ryder's place. I watched as Ryder's eyes shot around the room and when I looked to the far right of the room, I saw Nathan. His face was hard as stone and for a split second he let that fall and showed me just what I needed to see. Confirmation. He would protect them all after I was gone.

Sorry that this is so short and that it took so long to get out. For a while, the nightmares stopped and I thought they were over but they're back now so you guys now have more to read, yay. I should be updating a lot over the next two weeks due to spring break but I don't know. Anyways that was the most recent nightmare, it stopped after the last update and picked right back up where it stopped about a week and a half ago but I've been so busy I haven't been able to update until now so I hope you enjoy and let me know what you think!
