Nightmares Within Me

Night 9 Part 4

Justyn and i sat for lord only knows how long, just sitting in silence as i tried to process that had happened. Who i had lost. There was no bringing him back now. I had lost the main thing that kept me bolted to this world, i had lost my world. There was nothing that i could do either. No bargain that i could make, no way to trick the creature. I sat there wondering why him, why him of all people had to be here. Why did he always have die, why was it always the most painful to lose him when i care just as much about everyone else in the group. I had no idea why this was happening to me. Why they would be ripped from me and then brought back just to be ripped from me again. It was the worst pain that anyone could feel and i had to keep reliving it over and over and over. The room began to dim and i pushed myself into the corner as far as i could and Justyn began to shift in front of me. I peered over his shoulder as much as i could without climbing over it. And when the lights came back on i knew that this was going to be the end game this time. I was wrong it wasn't going to starve us out, it was going to bring everyone down to the first nightmare.

" Why, why does this always happen?" i said as i looked at the all in which i saw Ryder hanging, chained up again. He was beaten and hurt just like he was the last time, Justyn was trying hard not to look to the right of him. Where he had once been strung up and hurt and dismembered. I put my hand on his shoulder and squeezed, his response was pushing closer into the corner of the room.

" Something is wrong. Something is seriously wrong," he whispered. I looked around and began to try and slightly stand but Justyn pushed back further to keep me from it. I was in a kind of squat at that point and so i was able to see over his head. There was Ryder hanging on the wall, and that glint that i was looking for. That shimmer of the barrier. I stood all the way, pushing Justyn out of my way.

" Nothing's going to happen, not yet," i said as i laid my hand on the barrier between myself and Ryder, " It's going to do something if it had the barrier up again. So just watch everything and keep your head on a swivel," i said. He just nodded and stood up, keeping close to me.

I looked at Ryder, looked at how he was hanging. It wasn't right. He should have been relaxed and like a puppet but he was tensed and it looked like he was vibrating. I went to the far wall where the barrier started and began to run my hand along it as i walked to the other side of the room. About three fourths of the way there was a hole. I turned ot make sure Justyn wasn't looking because i knew he'd stop me and when i was sure he didn't care i went through the hole and up to Ryder. I laid my hand on his face to find it warm and pulsing, like blood was circlating through it. He was sweating and vibrating but that was the only thing i saw. I turned to walk away and tell Justyn some weird shit was happening with Ryder until i turned around with a split second decision.

" I don't care how you feel about me, if you're mad at me for getting you back her but if yout awake show me," i waited, and i waited. Almost a minute had passed yet as i looked closer the vibrations in his body had increased. I watched his eyes, and his mouth, then his eyes again. Then they moved. Underneath his eyelids his eyes began darting around and his chest began faintly rising and falling. I put my hand on my stomach as i fought the urge to throw up, then kissed him and ran to grab Justyn.

" He's alive," i said as i dragged him upto Ryders body. Justyn fell to his knees and watched Ryders struggling form. Suddenly without any warning his body broke free and began to morph into the creature.

" You son of a bi-" Justyn never got to finish that sentence before the creature tore his stomach to ribbons. It watched him fall to the ground and then slid it's claws down his legs, making ribbons of his skin and muscle. Then his throat and then it left him there and turned to me. I wasn't even looking at Justyn. I was set in a stance, my shoulders drawn back and ready.

" You can't do anything that will make the pain worse than it already is, i've already lost everyone and am stuck in this box," the creature gave a terrifying smile, one of pure evil and knowing. I sucked in a breath and waited to see what would happen. The next thing that happened was i saw a flash of bright white and everyone's parents we're in front of me. Ryder's parents, Eric's parents, Justyns parents, Lillian's parents, and Victoria's parents. The creature was standing beside me, hidden from then as they looked at me with tears in their eyes. I realized it was blocking Ryder from his parents view as i was blocking Justyn from his parents.

" Why, what have i done to anyone," I whispered as parents began talking over one another. Just then all the bodies had been moved and chained to the wall. At the sight of everyone my wounds began aching and i angled myself away so the parents wouldn't see my wounds yet. I looked back and all of their faces we're ashen. I looked to the creature but it had moved to the back, content to watch this unfold.
