Nightmares Within Me

Night 5 Part 3

We all woke up with a small startle. Lillian was walking around quietly shaking everyone and telling them to wake everyone else up. I had been up for at least an hour making sure Ryder was ok. He seemed to have sept off almost all the Adderall but it didn't mean there wasn't some there still. Austin, Gavin, Lillian, Justyn, and I all met in the middle of the night to discuss what was going to happen. Ryder and I had been the ones ryding point until he did this but because we don't know how much of the drug is in his system we had to meet.

" Do we still really want Ryder on point right now? I mean, sure he's an amazing shot and once he is completely clean of the rest of the Adderall sure, but right now?" Justyn started out. I sighed.

" I love him, but i agree. He is in no way able to run point right now," everyone looked at me. This ad been a thirty minute argument about whether or not Ryder was ok enough to be point right now and i hadn't said anything till now, " I agree, he is an amazing shot but we can't risk the lives of the people in the group and if this team does a sweep or we get split off in not going to put our team in danger," they looked at each other for a minute.

" We made you and Ryder captains and points, so right now it's our call," Austin said. I was torn. He was the only other shot that i truly trust but not now. I sat and thought for a couple minutes while everyone watched me. Finally i made up my mind.

" Austin, you'll be running rear point. Only until Ryder is clean. I trust you with my life but i'd rather have Ryder back there. We'll keep Ryder in the center of the group until we know he is ok. Lillian, i need you to keep and ee on him because you're riding behind me, which puts Justyn second to last. Justyn you're carrying all Ryders weapons except for the Glock. Leave him that," everyone nodded and we had gone back to bed. I hated opting Ryder out but it had to be done, for safety.

We were all getting up and getting ready. People had begun assigning team captains as well. Ryder and I had been assigned co-captains because our team was the largest. I checked in with everyone to see what was going on and if they had captains. Everyone did. Grace was a captain, Josiah was a captain, Alex was a captain, along with James. That made six captains in all. I nodded and went to Lillian to ask what was going on. We were all being extremely, cautiously, quiet. She explained that she had seem movement downstairs. Nothing that came into the kitchen but she believes we had been made. I cussed and walked back to the group of captains i had, Austin standing in as a temporary captain.

" Ok. There was movement spotted downstairs about fifteen minutes ago. Lillian believes we've been made. I need two small teams to do a house sweep," James and Josiah volunteered there teams, " Ok then go get ready and head in. Make sure you let Austin or myself know before you breach," and with that they left to begin getting ready.

" Next i need another two teams to go out and do a neighborhood sweep and get more supplies," Grave and James said they would do that so they left to go do that. I turned to Alex and Austin, " Well looks like it's our teams now. So what we're going to do is we need to find another safe place to go. Well wait until we get an all clear on the neighborhood sweep and we'll try to take the house across the street," i said. They nodded and ALex left to prep his team. Just then James ran up to me from around the house.

" There's something you need to see," i grabbed Austin and we followed behind James. When we got to the front of the house we stayed clear of any windows Nicoli could see us through and realized he had been busy. The entire street was lines with ropes and wooden things all with bells at ran up and into the front window of the second floor. It was an alarm system, and a good one. It looked next to impossible to get through, with guns, and not set of the bells. We decided to do a test. I picked up a rock and i threw it at one of the strings. The bells went off and i stepped forward a little to look up at the window. Just as i did i saw the barrel of a gun slide through the window.

" Shit," i muttered. If the guys hadn't been standing on top of me they wouldn't have heard it so we were safe. We safely inched our way back into the back yard to meet with the two teams going out.

" Ok, lucky for you the block looks deserted so you don't have to seep that. But to get supplies you have to detor. I don't know how extensive this goes so you guys need to go through backyards. Don't break down the fences, and be as quiet as humanly possible," they nodded and were off, jumping the fence into the next yard. I turned to Austin.

" Get ready," i said. Austin nodded and went to help everyone while i got Ryder ready. He was awake but groggy. I knew i had made the right decision suspending him till he was better.

" Hey love, get your shit it's time to roll," he looked around, his eyes barley cracked open.

" Wheres Nathan?" he asked right as the group was coming up behind me, ready to leave. Ryder saw them and hung his head. He must have thought this had been a dream, " Oh. Alright. What are we doing now?" he asked as he sat up and went to look for his guns, which were with Justyn. He finally saw that and looked at me, thn saw Austin next to me.

" You suspended me?!" he said. I rolled my eyes.

" Look at yourself Ryder, the Adderall clearly isn't out of your system so yes, i did. Now it's time to go," I handed him his pistol, " this is all you get. Justyn is taking you're shit, Austin is rear point. I'm front. Were going across the street. Don't. Touch. The bells. You'll kill us all," he rolled his eyes and took up his position. Alex came up next to me with Camilla and Eric and we set off.

We got to the front yard and i checked the window. There was no gun barrel so i said fuck it. My group went out first and ALex's followed. We slowly began making our way through the string and beams, not setting anything off. We were halfway across the street when two shots were fired. One went right past my head, hitting my ear, i most likely had a chunk of my ear missing. We all hit the floor but not before another round went off and someone yelled. I knelt and turned. Eric. Camilla had been running rear on Alex's team and jumped in front of her last second. He was on the ground and Alex began moving him.

" Austin!," two more shots were fired, not hitting anything, " Get everyone inside. Now!" he kept trying to say for me to go and i just pushed him, " Justyn give Ryder the LSAT and go!" he handled Ryder the gun and dragged him inside. I moved back towards everyone. Not once turning my back on Nicoli. It was completely dark in that room so i couldn't see anything. I got behind a bush at the house across the street and crouched down. Justyn broke the front door down and Alex followed him in to do a quick, half assed sweep. THey cleared it and everyone went in. I moved to go in to and a shot was let off that hit right in front of me.

" Ok, plan B," i shouldered the gun and used the scope. It was a bad scope and i didn't have my glasses so i waited. I moved out again and saw him shoot. I saw where the flash came form and open fired. As i did i began to move towards the door. I heard a scream from the window. I must have hit him somewhere. I turned to run inside. A mistake. I heard one final shot before i saw the ground.
