Raising rachel

~Hunters POV~

After Rachel went to sleep I stayed up and watched Netflix for a while and then realized I needed to try and call my dad again. I called and it rang and rang and rang so I just hung up. I looked at my phone and realized it was after 1 am. I guess I need to go to bed. I crawled into bed be side Rachel and she snuggled into me. Even though she's my step sister she feels like a real sister and I love her. I woke up the next morning to screaming. Rachel had woken up and wandered out of my room and couldn't find me. I ran to her and she grabbed my leg and wouldn't let go. I walked to the bathroom and brushed my teeth, fixed my hair, and put on a shirt. I finally got Rachel off my leg and got her dressed. She is almost 2 so we are gonna go shopping. After we are some breakfast I put her in the car and drove to Walmart. When we got to walmart I put her in a cart and pushed her to the baby stuff. We were looking at car seats when someone walked up behind me. It was MaryAnn. She said hi and we started talking. She helped me and Rachel pick out a new car seat. We got her a pink one covered with green flowers. Since I only give her bottles at night we got her some sippy cups. We walked down the diaper isle and I decided its time to put her in pull ups. Maryann and Rachel picked some out while I got her a potty chair. We started walking some more and I invited maryann to come over. I kind of like her shes really sweet. She said she would have to tell her parents but she would come. She went and told her parents and met me and Rachel in the baby clothes. We were getting Rachel some shorts, shirts, shoes, and a new birthday dress. After we paid for everything we went home. When we got everything put away me and Maryann took Rachel to her room and undressed her. Maryann put her in a Cinderella pull-up while I put her potty chair together. I bought Rachel some stickers so every time she went potty she could put a sticker on her potty chair. After we got everything together I put her potty chair in the bathroom. Maryann and I explained to her what the potty chair was for and told her if she needed to go potty to tell one of us. We went downstairs and I turned on some cartoons for Rachel and fed hitch. Maryann sat on the couch and I sent her a text. It read " hey can I ask you something" after she read it she looked at me and smiled. She texted back " of course". I sent " will you go out with me" and she said yes. I grabbed my phone and walked over to the couch where she was sitting and sat beside her. Rachel ran up to me and said she had to go potty so I ran up stairs with her and put her on the potty. Her pull-up was wet so I figure she told me she had to after she did it. I went and got her another pull-up and put it on her. We sat in there for about 15 minutes but she never went so we went back downstairs. I sat back down with maryann. She didn't go ? No, I said. she told me after she did it in her pull-up. Oh, well maybe she'll go next time. She told me about an hour later she had to go again so I carried her upstairs and put her on her potty. She made me leave but when I came back she had peed in her potty. I gave her a high five and we cleaned out her potty and she put a sticker on it. I carried her down stairs and she told maryann what she did. Rachel started playing with her toys so me and maryann turned on a scary movie. One time something really scary happened and maryann screamed and buried her head under my arm. After the movie was over it was only 5. I had Rachel come over toe so I could check her pull up and she had peed several times in it. I spatted her leg and said no no bad girl and took it off her. You know how kids get when they play they don't want to stop. After I took her pull-up off she fell on her knees and put her head on the ground and cried. I've never spanked her so it was new to her. I told her she was going to run around without a pull-up and if she peed or pooped in the floor she would get spanked again. She still laid in the floor and cried. I made her get up and I put her in my lap. I love you Rachel but you have to tell me when u need to potty ok ? she said ok and hung onto my neck. Me and maryann took her out on the patio to play. I brought her potty out just in case. She was sitting on her legs and she squeezed them together. I asked her if she needed to go peepee but she said no. I start talking to maryann and the next thing I know Rachel is crying. I look over at her and she's in the corner of the patio crying. I asked her what's wrong and she pointed to the wet spot on the patio. I made her come over to me. I guess she thought I was gonna spank her because she turned her leg sideways but I picked her up and put her in my lap. It's ok baby you were walking to your potty and you had an accident. It's ok. She started bawling like crazy. I told her it was ok and that all kids have accidents. I put her head on my chest and started rocking her. She finally stopped crying. Since if was a friday night I'm letting her stay up later. I sat her on her potty and she made me leave the patio. Maryann stayed out with her. I made her a bottle and got her a diaper and clothes. I went back out with her diaper and she screamed when she seen it. I told her she has to wear them at night until she is fully potty trained. I realized I forgot her blankie and I went and grabbed it. When I came out she was off the potty. I asked her if she went and she nodded. She grabbed my hand and led me to her potty. She got 2 stickers this time. I laid her on the patio and wiped her bottom and put her diaper on her. I put her pjs on her, gave her a pacifier, and handed her her blankie and she pulled her self into my lap and laid down. At about 9:30 maryann went home and said she would come back tomorrow. I put Rachel's potty back in the bathroom and put her in my bed. I went and took a shower, cleaned up some of Rachel's toys, and put a load of laundry in the washer. I went back upstairs and got the other baby monitor because I am staying up until the laundry gets done. At about 1:30 I put the last load of laundry in the dryer. I made me an glass of water and sat down. Rachel started yelling my name and I picked up the baby monitor and told her id be right there. I went to the room and she told me she needed to potty. I took her to the bathroom and set her on the potty. She peed and almost fell asleep on her potty. I picked her up, put her diaper back on and put her back in bed. I went back down stairs and started folding Rachel's clothes. By the time I finished her clothes the dryer full of towels got done. By the time I got to bed it was 4 am. I laid down and fell sound asleep. When I woke up I realized it's been 2 weeks since I tried to call dad. I tried to call him but he didn't answer. I went back to sleep and woke up at 8:30 to a knock at the door. I got up still shirtless not caring to a crying Maryann at the door. I pulled her into me and she cried. I picked her up and she wrapped her legs around me and we sat down on the couch. When she stopped crying I asked her what happened and she told me. I told her she is going to stay with us. Rachel walked sleepily down the stairs holding a pull-up but already had her diaper off. I put her pull-up on he fans asked her if she used the potty. She nodded and went and played with her toys. Maryann looked at me and I looked at her and she smiled. I kissed her forehead and she laid her head on my shoulder. I bought Rachel one of those jumper seats that hang in the door way and she wanted in it. I put her in it and she started bouncing. I sat back down with maryann and she started to cry again. I pulled her into my lap and held her like that until she calmed down. I kissed her and she got up and walked to the bathroom. After she came back I told her to stay with Rachel and I will go get her stuff. She said ok. After about and hour I came back with all her things. We setup her room and then made supper. I made chicken with corn and green beans. Rachel loves green beans. After supper I made Rachel clean up her toys and go sit on the potty until I came to give her her bath which would be like in 2 minutes. I took her clothes and pull-ups off and she ran upstairs to the bathroom. About 2 minutes later I went upstairs and ran her bath. She never used the potty because her pull-up was soaked. I gave her a bath and got her dressed. I told her it was bedtime so I put her in HER room this time and she stayed she didn't cry. Maryann went and took a shower and I changed into my sweatpants and no shirt as normal. Maryann came back downstairs 30 minutes later in shorts and one of MY shirts. She cuddled up against me on the couch and I turned on a movie. She fell asleep and I carried her upstairs to her room. I closed her door and Rachel started screaming. She had a night terror. I picked her up and calmed her down. I put her back in her crib and she screamed. I picked her up and decided she isn't sleeping in my bed anymore she is going to sleep in her bed. I'm letting her sleep with me tonite and tomorrow we are turning her crib into a bed and we will put it at the end of my bed. The next morning I woke up to Rachel sound asleep and maryann crying. I went to her room and sat on her bed beside her. She cried louder and more. The next thing I know she is running to her bathroom. I get up to follow her and she starts throwing up. She has cried so much she is making herself sick. I sat on the side of her bathtub rubbing her back. When she got done I pulled her into my lap and held her. I didn't let her go, I just sat and held her. I got up and carried her to her bed. Laid her on the bed and she stopped crying. She looked at me with red eyes. I kissed her. This made her smile. I know of made her smile because she smiled into the kiss. I was I'm the middle of kissing her and Rachel walked in. I stopped and picked up Rachel but she wanted back down. She ran to Maryann's bathroom and threw up. I ran to the bathroom and rubbed her back. She started crying because she was scared. She had never gotten sick before. I carried her to her room, laid her on the changing table, and took her temp. She had a 99.1 fever. I gave her some liquid Morton and she fell asleep. I put her in her crib and went back to maryann. She had gotten dressed. I told her if Rachel's fever went down we would go to the beach. I kissed her again and walked to my room to get dressed. I had just put my belt on my shorts picking out a shirt when maryann walked in. She put her arms around my waist and kissed my shoulder. I put on a shirt and kissed her and Rachel woke up. I took her temp again and it was normal so we got ready to go to the beach. I put on my swim trunks, helped Rachel pick out a swim suit, and maryann put hers on under shorts and a crop top. We drove to the beach in Victoria (Sawyers Aston Martin) because they took joeys car sutsuki. When we got to the beach I opened Maryann's door she got out I kissed he in front of everyone and pulled Rachel out. I carried Rachel and held Maryann's hand. We chose a spot on the sand and I laid Rachel down and put sunscreen on her and we built sandcastles with her. We played in the water and left around 5 and went home. I cooked some chicken and gave Rachel a bath around 7. I made her crib into a toddler bed and put it at the end of my bed. While I was converting her bed she said she needed to go potty so I told her to tell Maryann. She told her and then when she got finished came back to me. I put her in a pull-up with no pjs. She played with the toys she has stashed under my bed and I made her bed. I told her when I got finished she has to sleep in this bed and that she can't sleep in my bed anymore. When I got finished she cleaned up her toys and I picked her up. She put her head on my chest and I put her in her bed. I tucked her in, gave her a pacifier, and her blankie. I raised the rail a bit so she wouldn't fall out and I shut the door. I walked down stairs to maryann sitting on the couch with her head in her knees. I waked over to her and she looked up. I passionately kissed her. After we stopped kissing I turned on a movie. Maryann fell asleep so I carried her to her room and tucked her in. I kissed her cheek and closed the door. I went to my room to Rachel still sound asleep so I laid down in my bed and fell asleep. A few hours later I heard a faint crying. I sat up on my elbows and seen maryann in the doorway crying into her hand. I went over to her and wrapped my arms around her. She kept her hand over her mouth and cried into my shirt. I led her to the end of my bed and I sat down and put her on my lap. We sat like this for about 15 minutes. When the crying stopped I realized it stopped because she fell asleep. I laid her on the left side of the bed and stood up. Rachel woke up about that time and needed to go to the bathroom. I got her a clean pull-up and set her on the potty. She felt like she had a slight fever again so after she got done I carried her downstairs and made her some juice with a little medicine in it. We sat down on the couch and she drank her juice. After she finished I carried her back upstairs and laid her down. I went back downstairs and tried to call dad. The call was answered, but no one said anything. I checked the time and decided there was no reason to go back to bed. I went and took a shower and put on some sweatpants.
