Chapter 29

Avi POV

We got back to my apartment and saw that Kirstie and Esther got back.

"Where do I put this?!" I paniced.

"Uhh... Here give me this." Scott said grabbing the bag out of my hands.

"Sco-"

"Trust me." He paused.

He took the small box containing the ring and handed it to Kevin.

"It's okay dude. I wont let anything happen."

A small wave of relief hit me. I can trust Kevin. Scott crumpled the bag and frantically looked around for somewhere to put it as we walked up the stairs. Kevin knocked on the door and we waited.

"SCOTT, PUT THAT SOMEWHERE BEFORE KIRSTIE SEES!!" He whispered angerly.

"I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO PUT IT." He whispered angerly back.

"WELL FIND SOMEWHERE IT'S NOT THAT HARD!"

"THEN YOU DO IT!" He said shoving the bag at Mitch.

"I'M NOT THE ONE WHO TOOK IT!" He shoved it back to Scott.

They sat there arguing and pushing the bag back and forth until the door began to open. Scott paniced and looked around, seeing that there was nowhere to put it he quickly shoved it down his shirt and acted like nothing happened.

"Hey guys?...." Esther said confused.

"Hi..." We said awkwardly and shuffled in.

"Scott, is there something in your shirt?.."

"Uh.... No- I mean it's ju- I uh.... Um I needa throw-up!" And with that he ran to the bathroom.

"Uhh.... I'll go check on him...." Mitch said and hurried his way to the bathroom.

Idiot..

"What was that about?" Esther chuckled.

"I don't know..." I shook my head and walked over to Kirstie.

Kevin and Esther walked to the kitchen. I told him earlier once we got here to tell her what's going on, and show her the ring.

"Hey sweetie, how was your time with the guys?" She smiled.

"Great, how about you and Esther?"

"Wonderful." She smiled and kissed me softly.

We pulled away and sat on the couch. I wrapped my arm around her and with my other messed with her hand.

"Soooo.... I was wondering if you wanted to go out tomorrow?" I asked her.

"Sounds fun. Just me and you?"

"Just me and you." I smiled and kissed her cheek, and she giggled.

"Where are w-" she started, but was cut off by Esther squealing from the kitchen.

"What the.." Kirstie said and began to get up.

"I-It's probably nothing." I said trying to get her to stay seated.

"It sounded serious, come on." She said and got up.

Oh no. What if she see's the ring. What if she decides she doesn't want to get married and leave me. A million things could go wrong. We made our way to the kitchen to find Esther standing with her hands covering her mouth and Kevin on one knee holding something.

Oh no. The ring.

"Shhhh! Esther, will you ple-" he said, but cut off when he saw us at the door way.

"What.... Is going on?...." Kirstie asked wide-eyed.

Kevin looked at his position and immedietely stood up.

"No, no, no, it's not what it looks like, she just.."

"Dropped my earring." She said taking the ring from Kevin. You couldn't tell in was and actual ring though; it was fairly dim in the kitchen.

"Oh, y'all confused me for a second." She laughed.

"Sorry..." They said at the same time.

"Awe, but how cute was that. I'm a sucker for proposals." She said placing her hands over her heart. "They're cute. Remember that one that guy did on the sing-off?! I bawled for a good 10 minutes." She laughed and began to exit the kitchen. "I'm going to go check on Scott and Mitch." She said and left.

Once she was out of ear shot I let these two have it.

"Care to explain to me WHAT THE HELL THAT WAS?!" I said angerly, keeping my voice low.

"I'm sorry Avi... I was just caught off guard... I didn't know you were planning on proposing and I just couldn't keep it in.... Sorry.."

"Yeah... Me too man... And sorry I dropped the ring..." Kevin said, hanging his head low.

I sighed.

"You know I can't be mad at y'all." I pulled them into a hug.

We pulled away and Esther put the ring back in the box and gave the box to me.

"Hey, Avi?" Kirstie called from down the hall.

I quickly shoved the box in my pocket and turned to meet her at the door way.

"Yeah, babe?"

"Scott isn't feeling well so Mitch and him are going to head home." She frowned.

"Whoo.. Look at the time. I better get going. I'll see y'all later." Kevin said giving us hugs then heading out the door.

Scott and Mitch came slowly, but surely down the hall.

"Uggghhhhh..." Scott groaned.

"Yeah, we're gonna head out. See y'all later." Mitch said and they headed out the door.

Wow, Scott is a good actor. I almost believed he was sick.

"Welp, I guess I'll head out too. Y'all sleep well." She said and gave us hugs before walking out the door.

"You ready for bed?" Kirstie asked wrapping her hands around my neck.

"Yeah, it's been a busy day." I said placing my hands on her waist. "But it'll be even busier tomorrow." I smirked.

"What do you have planned?" She asked smiling.

"You'll see." I said and kissed her softly. I pulled away, but she pulled me back for another kiss. We both smiled under our kiss and I pulled away laughing.

"We have to get ready for bed, Kirst." I laughed.

"Okay, okay." She laughed and we made our way to our room.

We changed into our sleep clothes and got into bed. She cuddled up to my chest and withen minutes she was fast asleep.

"Goodnight, Kirst." I said even though she couldn't hear me and kissed her forehead, and soon I too drifted off to sleep.
