Chapter 29

Buzz Buzz. Buzz Buzz.
"Hello?" My morning groggy voice greeted whoever was at the end of the line.
"Morning to you too beautiful." Shawn chuckled into the phone.
"Shawn! I miss you!" I immediately sat up in bed.
"I miss you too babe." He replied with softness in his voice. "Shit oh my god, what time is it there?"
I looked over at the digital clock and it read 2:24 am but I didn't want Shawn to hang up or leave.
"It's just the morning." I replied.
"Did I wake you?" He asked.
"No no, I was just laying in bed."
"Oh Ok."
"Shawn?"
"Mmm?"
"I love you." I whispered into the phone.
"I love you." Shawn said back.
I lay back down with the phone to my ear and my hand covering the speaker as I gently sobbed into my pillow.
"Clara? Are you still there?" Shawn's voice was concerned.
I swallowed the lump of sadness in my throat and put a smile on my face as I tried to act through the phone.
"I'm here." I said.
"I don't want to leave, but I have to go." Shawn said with sympathy in his voice.
"I understand, have a good day." I said to him.
"You too, I'll text you as soon as I can. I love you."
"I love you too." I replied and with that I ended the call and cried into my pillow.
I don't want to be in Shawn's career path but it's so hard without him, harder than I imagined. He's all I have right now, my comforter and protector from everything and anything no matter how big or small.
I slept for a few more hours, getting up when my alarm went off for the fiftieth time that morning.
I started my day by dressing smartly to go ride my horse and having a quick bowl of cereal whilst I watched this morning news. Who knew porcupines could be so interesting...
I pulled up at the equestrian centre and took my beautiful horse out for a hack through the woods, our favourite spot where he would calmly walk and would allow me to think whilst he navigated and dodged trees.
Once I got home I took a shower and ordered pizza which thankfully arrived within twenty minutes.
It was hard without Shawn, but I was getting through it.

I'm sorry for the short chapter guy's but this has been a very busy day and it's all I have right now. The next following days look busy but I'll try get these chapters out for you!
I do have drafts saved so I know where the story is going so let's hope and pray I can finish writing them for y'all!
