The private jet was an amazing way to start off my holiday with Shawn. The seats were like arm chairs and as I read my book I felt myself being engulfed further and further into the cream leather seats.
"What you reading?" Shawn asked opposite me. His head stuffed into his note book with his guitar resting comfortably on his knee.
I took my eyes off the pages and turned the cover to Shawn.
"One of us is lying." I told him as he studied the front cover of my book.
"What's it about?"
"Five people walk into detention and only four come out alive. It's like a murder mystery novel." I smiled lightly up at him.
"I swear you live for all that crime and murder stuff." He chuckled leaning back into his chair.
"It's intriguing." I argued. "You should read it when I'm done." I shrugged.
"You know I can't read books. I just get bored."
"Who knows." I said smiling as I too leant back further into the leather seats. "Maybe it will give you some inspiration." I nodded at his note book and guitar where lyrics and notes were scribbled frantically.
"Maybe." He smiled as he looked deep in thought.
I smiled back and kicked off my shoes and brought my knees to my chest as I sat sideways in my chair, my hands with my book resting on my stomach.
"What are you writing anyway?" I asked as I finished a chapter.
"Songs."
"Mr Mendes. Must I remind you that here you are with a perfectly good sample of a song and here you are writing a new one."
"What's the perfect sample?" He smirked.
"What if I told you a story!" I threw my hands in the air. "I may be your girlfriend but I'm still a fully pledged member of the Mendes army."
"Who knows, you could leak my songs. Then I'd have to dump you." His smirk grew across his face.
"Not if I dump you first."
Shawn gasped and put his hand to his heart.
"You would never!" He overly pronounced his words and acted incredibly offended.
"Watch me." I giggled turning a page.
Shawn chuckled as he shook his head and traveled back into the depth of his music.
His eyes were fully fixated on the paper as he noted down some lyrics before strumming his guitar over and over again, his voice humming along to the beat.
"This is the captain speaking, please fasten your seatbelts we will be landing in Jamaica shortly."
I closed my book and did as the captain instructed, watching the clouds pass us as we descended downwards and a light turbulence shaking the plane.
As we landed, I watched the beautiful nature fly by beneath us. The tall, green, lush trees and colourful plants as animals of all shapes and sizes grazed upon them.
"You've never been here have you?" Shawn smiled as the plane started to land.
"No, I haven't." I shook my head. "But I can't wait to explore it."

I begged Shawn to leave unpacking until later. The small cottage styled cabin we were staying in was the same he had recorded his self named album in.
Although we were here on holiday, I could tell Shawn was already thinking about his next album. I admired him for always putting in maximum effort, but he deserves a break. This boy never stops.
"Where to?" Shawn asked as he descended down the wooden stairs to meet me wondering aimlessly on the second floor.
I walked to the glass window, allowing light to flood into the room and me to stare wonderfully out to the nature.
"Surprise me." I turned round to face Shawn. "If you could only do one thing whilst you were here, what would you do?"
Shawn slipped his eyes to the ground and brought his fingers to his lips, tugging at them and scrunching them as his mind wondered.
"Well, we'll probably do that later." He snorted and a smirk grew on both our faces.
I crossed my arms and leant back against the window, Shawn slowly stepping toward me as his arms swung lightly at his sides.
"Nope." I mouthed and shook my head.
Shawn closed the remaining proximity between us and placed a hand one side of my head, the other sneaking in the side of my dungarees and grazing my skin.
"We have forever to do other things."
"3 weeks." I corrected him and his head tilted, as it always does when I correct him in something he doesn't want to be corrected on.
"Baby." Shawn whined.
"Dude, seriously, have those travel sickness tablets made you sexually frustrated?" I smiled but allowed a giggle to escape. "Just one thing."
"Just one?" Shawn asked.
I could tell he felt a compromise brewing.
"I just want to do one thing. Then we can come back and eat and unpack and sleep and-"
"Sex." Shawn finished.
I rolled my eyes.
"If you behave, pal." I scowled.
Shawn's eyebrows furrowed and his eyes somewhat narrowed.
"Did you, did you just, pal me?"
I laughed underneath him as he towered over me.
"What if I did?" I sniggered gaining some sass and confidence as I felt the next words slip from my mouth. "Pal."
