His face took the little breath I had away. Eyes like gold shimmered in the light while his face was like that of a gods. His short hair was like fire the way it changed in the light. "Damn, why the hell are all the pretty guys crazy," I muttered.
"Umm I'm not crazy," Jerry said from his side of the wall. He looked out into the sunlight then put his hood up again. "Thank you for the compliment though you aren't too bad yourself."
I wish I could have talked right then but I was at a loss for words. Amanda was now my priority along with escaping with the crazy guy. This place was nothing but trouble and I've found nothing but the worst of it. "Hey is that her?" I walked over to see around the wall and heard her voice.
"Who calls the person who saves your sick and gives you medicine a witch! You better go learn some matters before I curse you you hear?" Amanda picks herself off the dirt road and dusts off her gray sweatpants.
"Mandy!" I call running out onto the street. We hug then I pull her back into the shadows of the ally. "Hey if you curse people doesn't that make you a witch?" I laughed.
"This is her?" Jerry asked with his hood still up. I know it might be a little late but Jerry's voice had a melodious tone to it like he was singing when he wasn't. "I am pleased to meet you Amanda. Sorry for the inconvenience but I'll be going now that I have completed my end of the bargain. Oh for future reference my name is Jerry."
"I can understand you!" Mandy exclaimed rushing up to Jerry to poke and prod at him. That's weird she usually doesn't touch guys like that. In fact before I knew what I was doing I was pulling her off of Jerry.
"What do you mean?" Jerry said with curiosity lining his voice.
"First let me just say that the way you talk makes me want to do whatever you say. Meaning I like your voice. Second ever since I woke up in a empty fireplace I have been surrounded by people who speak gibberish and all I hear is the word witch. Please tell me I haven't gone crazy."
"If you had gone crazy then why'd you drag me with you?" I joked. Mandy gave it some thought then responded,
"You come with me everywhere I go."
I nodded it was the truth.
"So how did we end up here," I asked the two of them. I'm not sure why but I trusted Jerry to help us.
"I'm still working on the theory so until it is finished how about we figure out how to survive here." we both look to Jerry whose face is hidden by the hood.
"Well from what I can tell you guys aren't from around here so I'd better get you acquainted with the lifestyle here." Jerry says while he pulls back the hood to look up to the sky. I hear Amanda gasp like I did and smile at being the lucky one who saw it first.
"He's like a god of beauty. How did you find him first?" she said looking at me. I shrug and notice the ground moving beneath Jerry.
"Jerry.." I started but when he looked at me with those golden eyes I stopped. They were like a cats slit pupil only they held more power behind them as the irises swirled around his pupil.
"An enchantress and a witch that are friends will not be welcomed by this world. One creates contracts the other uses magic in ways unknown to all but the users. Do not pick sides unless you are certain of yourself. From now on the only one you can trust is each other. I do not tell prophecies but give advice so heed it well."
"We understand," Amanda and I said in unison. I'm not sure why but when I compare Jerry and the man I first met I found jerry more powerful than him. So why did Jerry not want to met the man he called brother.
