"Morons!" The two of us groaned as a hand hit the back of our heads. Amanda had to stop our fight midway so we could "reflect on our actions". "Now sit and eat a peaceful breakfast like good idiots." I looked down and was awarded with the sight of a meal that didn't involve a one man show of meat. My mouth watered and I forgot my manners diving into my food with a gusto I never got to indulge in.
"Emily slow down or I will take it away!" Amanda yelled over the table. Jerry nudged me and I reluctantly wiped my hands placing them on my lap. "Disgusting, manners at the table please." Amanda said neatly cutting a piece of meat on her plate. Jerry chuckled next to me than shut up as a glare came from the other side of the table.
"Yes mother." I said under my breath.
"What did you just say?" Amanda said with an edge.
"Oh maybe I should speak louder so the dictator can hear me?" I said placing a hand on my mouth trying to cover my grin. Jerry slide to the far edge of his seat not wanting to get involved in our fight.
"I wouldn't be a better president so I guess that title holds a complement."
"Only the most prideful of people could take that as a good thing. Maybe your ego is over inflated." I mocked taking my hands from under the table so I could rest my chin on them. "Then again I would hate for you to have one of your atomic explosions here. Wouldnt want people to think a drama queen was leading them, now would we?"
A dark aura seemed to form behind Amanda as she stood slamming her hands on the table. "A drama queen, huh? I will show you to your rightful place sinner for I am but a benevolent god willing to forgive an insolent fool." a smile crept up onto her face that would make any man cower before her. Incidentally I am not one of those pitiful creatures.
"My my. Have you forgotten? I am but a devil doing my deeds of greatness. I need not the forgiveness of a god." I said letting a little cackle escape at the end.
"Repent or so help me I will strike you where you stand!"
"With what dear?"
"With all the powers of creation!" Amanda said throwing her hands into the air. I stood up slowly putting a hand on my hip.
"Then I will show you hell where all creation is destroyed."
Our eyes locked for about five minutes and was interrupted by a vampire opening the dining halls doors. "Sam! Bring out the blood wine!" Victor looked up and I felt like beating the life out of him. "What are you three doing?"
"Permission attained. Elimination of cursed being proceeding." Amanda said before erupting into flames.
I crossed my arms and said, "Who wants to take a shot at her?" Several voices sounded off in my head but I tended to chose the reluctant ones. "How bout Death?" A chorus of awes and murmurs came from the demons but soon quieted as the child form of Death materialized beside me.
"Too cruel my lady." he said playing absentmindedly with his robes.
"Ah but you wanted to fight remember?" I said pointing a finger at Amanda.
"Is death part of the equation?" he asked.
"Immobilization only."
"Get your toy to do it." Death said turning into black smoke.
"Liar you seem to be having fun." I said as the adult form came waltzing out of the smoke. "Make it quick. I'll be eating so wait until I'm finished before asking for help." I grabbed some bread and jam retreating to the side of the room. Jerry came and joined me while looking calm. I guessed he was too interested to hold his mask in place. Victor noticed the tension in the air and backed towards the opposite wall after closing the halls doors.
