If I hadn't shut my eyes in the last 500 feet I would have seen my salvation radiating in the little sun still showing through the gloom of battle. It wasn't a miracle that help had come for it had been the one to try and rescue me during the dragon fight. Then again it was also its fault that I had plummeted to the earth so I guess it was an eye for an eye in this case. 100 feet from the ground I was scooped into a warm embrace that leveled out its flying to allow my body to adjust from the fall. It didn't last long though for I opened my eyes to the savior known as Jerry. His golden eyes met mine for a brief second before he started weaving and performing major air maneuvers to avoid the attacks from both above and below.
He was in his giant red dragon form holding me tightly in his front claws to keep me from falling. Jerry didn't hate me after all. I smiled to myself relaxing inside the safety of his clawed hand. We flew past the barrier and he landed carefully on the ground setting me aside so I wouldn't have to fight his wings. Several others rushed over to him all seemingly concerned about his safety. One smaller elf carried a bundle of cloth and I averted my eyes when the large dragon shrank into his humanoid form.
"Sir, the princess requests your presence immediately." A different elf said as the rest slunk away.
"I'll be there in a minute tell her that." Jerry growled slipping on the robe. Lucky for me I still had clothing even if it was just a simple shirt and shorts. They bowed and retreated scared by Jerry's threatening voice. "You should find something to cover yourself with as well."
I looked up wondering if he was talking to me then down at myself. My shirt was filled holes from where the arrows had hit me and tears from the rough scales of the dragons. I automatically crossed my arms and positioned myself away from his stare. "Don't look perv!" I snapped feeling my checks get red.
"I already saw remember?" Jerry said with a grin.
"Shut up!" I said feeling the heat touch my ears. I sat hunched over on the ground.
"Sorry. I have to go." I was crushed couldn't he say something else? He was probably waiting for a thank you.
"Thanks." I muttered. "For saving me." He was already gone when I looked again. "Jerk." I sat there until a person carrying blankets passed by. "Excuse me."

I shifted uncomfortably in the clothing the elf had brought me. They were a little tight and short for me but this was the best she could come up with for the time being. I followed her to the medical tents but stayed clear of the tents that kept their flaps down. "I could help out if you don't mind." I said as she handed a different elf the blankets I had delayed her in bringing.
"Great, what do you know about medical treatment?" A different higher pitched voice said from behind me.
I turned to find a tall creature that looked more like a walking flower than an elf. It was dressed in a white lab coat of sorts and carried a big metal case beside her. "I can do as much as stitching but surgery is off the table." I said in response.
"What about fairies?" This must be a test.
"Sorry elves are about all I can do unless they resemble my anatomy. Sorry if it is an inconvenience." I gave a slight nod of my head in respect.
"While there are plenty of elves we need doctor for the fairies right now, wait, you might be the best option we have right now for her." The flower said swaying side to side. "Go to tent thirty four and tend to the only patient there." The flower gave orders to the little elf and walked past us into the depths of the tent.
"Come." The little elf grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the tent. After weaving through tents and wounded soldiers we arrived at the tent labeled 34. "Everything you need should be in there, good luck." She ran off without another word and I walked in. it was relatively smaller than the other tents probably meant for individual use. In the corner sat a small bed and on it was a sleeping beauty.
