Enchantress

I wake to find myself on a bed in a foreign room. I guessed part of me wanted to wake up in my room knowing all that had happened had been a dream. "You feeling better?" it was Amanda who was sitting on the edge of the bed. I sat up to see where I was. "I heard you scream all the way here. They wouldn't let me in your room so after he had to leave I picked the lock and came in to see you. Just so you know you have been asleep for a few hours and it is now night outside."

"I kept hearing voices in my ears and then I felt pained like someone had taken a knife and stabbed my heart over and over." I placed a hand over my heart feeling the remnants of the pain I had felt. Amanda leans in and hugged me trying to tell me I would be okay.

I wanted to cry, the home I once knew was gone in another world and the new powers I had made me have nightmares. "I just want to go home," I said a single tear fell down my face.

"Emily don't hate me but I like it here. Men aren't trying to see me naked or pulling my hair. The teaches don't harp on me then try to 'understand' me. My parents are not here to look down on me or take me to therapy where an old man hits on me." Amanda's words made sense and I didn't blame her for wanting to leave the old world. She was like my sister and if she didn't want to go back I would stay with her so she wouldn't get lonely. Maybe it was also the selfish desire of not wanting to go back home and explain by myself where we had gone.

"If you don't want to go back then what do you plan to do in this world," I sniffed letting Amanda go.

"I'm not sure but I think I want to go and discover the full capabilities of my powers. I mean as I was picking the lock I was upset that someone was coming to check the door so I said open and the door just opened by itself." Amanda said with a slight smile. She was right if we were going to stay then I needed to figure out my powers as well.

"Yours I find very intriguing. It works on both sexes as long as you are able to kiss them for that is the contract that binds you to them. Those who are bound by the contract cannot speak of it unless it is too the enchantress with whom has the contract. Enchantresses can only be female there can only be two on the planet as well for they require such a large range to roam. What else was there? I can't remember all of it but I snuck out the book that had the information. It's written in the country's old language so no one else can read it." Amanda said pulling a book out of a brown sack full of bread. I could see more books buried further inside but I didn't ask about them.

"Happy reading," Amanda said moving over to the fur covered lounge chair by the fireplace. I looked at the old book covered in a weird leather and ragged pages. No words or symbols were on the outside so I turned to the first page with writing. Sitting crossed legged I sat over the book looking at the strange writing.

I did not know what it said but somehow the words were forming in my head and slowly I started to read it. 'of all the creatures on this continent one remains a secret to all. The enchantress. Because of recent events I was put into the contract of one who wanted me to record all the powers and explain how everything works. I find it hard to concentrate in the presence of her for she emits an aura of mystery I cannot explain. Even now with her absent from the room my thoughts are of her. She believes that her name will be kept secret from the world but I highly doubt that once this book is finished her name will go down in history.'

I read on for awhile but all that it was about was the the thoughts of one under contract. Basically one under contract became obsessed with the enchantress. The level of which they became obsessed depended on how powerful the enchantress was. Also the breed of monster it was along with age and the small factor of whether or not the one under contract was in contact with the enchantress. The more you were with her the more she would be in your mind. Basically I viewed it as a sort of forced love.
