I feel like I lied about making Amanda into stronger character but give her chance because she will be doing great things later on in the book. I promise. BTW some of our old friends from the book will be coming back better than before with a little more than a secret to them. I might have to change a few things in the earlier chapters to bring everything together in the end. Then again this is only a rough draft of the story so enjoy the latest chapter of Atlantis!

"What?" I asked not really being able to wrap my head around what was happening.

"Something created from magic cannot feel pain nor the limits that would affect a living creature." Death said swinging the sword down at the thing that was Clyde's shadow. His hand shot out and grabbed the swords blade halting all movement from Death. "It can't be!" The hand pulled the blade towards the body taking it away from Death and into the hands of the enemy. His expression was covered by a black cloth tied around his face and most of his head. The sword shrank down to the size of a two handed sword never losing its color.

I was starting to panic but something about Deaths calm manner kept me from retreating to safety. Death walked slowly over to me and drew me into him forcing me to look up at his eyes. They took all my fear and soon his lips were on mine taking my life away slowly until there was only a small amount left. He let go of me slowly placing me gracefully against a rock so I could see the battlefield. My body couldn't move and it took all my remaining strength to keep my eyes open. Did he really need to take my life or was he about to do something unbelievable?

The impossible became reality as Quicksilver left my skin and became a pair of silver gloves that Death slipped on. My wings left and became his only they were larger and smooth like a bats. Dark glowing purple veins appeared on the near transparent skin like they were actually Deaths real wings. The horns that usually swirled towards the back now faced forward and up. The robes were tight as Death grew then were empty as the skin left replaced only by bones. A hood hid his face but seemed to slide between the horns and his skull. Quicksilver still covered his boney hands though. More demons left my skin joining Death somewhere on his new form which for some reason seemed to be his real form.

The black smoke settled beside him and he reached in slowly as cracking sounds came from his arm. The room was soundless as he went about this change and the dark Clyde waited patiently as this all happened. Out of the smoke Death pulled out the strangest looking weapon I had ever seen but I saw the dark eyes of Clyde widen.

The weapon was a nightmare that came to life through the hands of pure malice. There was something resembling a blade but it looked like a vertebrae with sharp pointed ribs that faced out before curving up slightly. Each rib got smaller towards the top till the vertebrae stopped in a pointed tip that resembled a cone. The hilt was strange in that it was made of of fangs and molars that wrapped around the users fingers while also making the hilt. The guard was made of sinew wrapped over heavens knows what. Small red gems were implanted on each segment of the vertebrae but it disturbed me for some reason because they were rounded like marbles.

At the hilts end was a skull of a bird. The weapon was held in one hand but there was enough room to weild it with two. The hooded figure stood silently robes fluttering in a nonexistent wind while a shudder went down my spine. Teeth chattering filled the air causing the black Clyde to take a step back in fear but stop as Amanda groaned. The weapon erupted into black flames, the white of the weapon sticking out against the black flame. Red glittered moving until I saw what the red gems really were. Eyes, demon like red eyes.

A step forward from a resolved Clyde brought the weapon down on him slicing through everything that got in its way as Clyde dodged. No object moved from the strike. Instead a gaping scar crossed the seemingly umarred rock floor. The blue sword swung but clashed with the white causing a painfully ring to echo in the halls. It was obvious that Clyde was pushing with all his strength not to mention magic. The creature called Death however was unfazed and simply pushed a little harder breaking the blade.

Clyde went flying across the hall, when he hit the floor a loud snap sounded in several places. An attack like that would kill a mortal creature but this was a creature conjured from magic it felt no pain. The sight of it trying desperately to stand and fight for its master was heartbreaking. It fumbled falling face first into the floor and before I could even let out a sound the nightmare weapon sank into the creatures skull. I felt scared, more than I had ever in my life. I needed to stop Death but was he even in there anymore?

The hooded creature clacked it's teeth again then turned my way weaving its head back and forth as it walked. I couldn't move still so I reached my conscious out to it. I was met with an overwhelming presence that brought me back to my own body. All I knew was that it was after me, Death my friend was no longer in control of the beast in front of me. "Help.." I whispered. It was almost within striking distance.

"Help me." I said a little louder. The teeth chattered again but I could make out a word.

"Kill."

"Anybody.. Please.."

"Torture." the teeth clattered.

"Save me!" I screamed as the weapon moved up slightly ready to strike. My eyes closed refusing to watch my end come. It never came. More chattering.

My eyes opened slowly to see a new beast in front of me. This one was a brilliant red and taller than the black one. Golden wings hovered protectively over me while the room quaked from a violent roar. Sharp ivory claws wet embedded in the floor in front of me while a thick red tail circled around me protectively.

"Mine." the teeth clattered.

"Mine." rumbled the red creature.

"Protect her I will as I have."

"I am hers. She has awakened my true form."

"Same here." the clattering said.

"Take the other." the red rumbled moving its wings slightly causing a wind to blow over me.

"Want her."

"So do I."

"Let her choose." the teeth said proposing a solution to the problem between the two.

"Fine." The two heads turned to me and I saw the darkness within the eyes of the hooded creature. As much as they were dark there was another feeling to them, I don't know why but I could trust it even if I was scared of what it might do to me.

The other creature was bigger but the eyes were ones that I had seen before so many times. They belonged to, "Jerry?" I asked passing out from all the stress and exhaustion.
