The day we meet was the first day of summer after graduating middle school. Amanda was running away from her parents and had knocked on my door. I had no friends back then so when she asked me for a favor I slammed the door on her face. Still she pleaded saying I was the only one she could trust not to call her parents. I related because of my own hatred towards my never at home parents. Not that I let her in right away I waited for an hour before opening the door and letting the girl inside.

Her parents came hours later after receiving information from my neighbors that she was inside my house. We hadn't spoken a word to each other the whole time so I fed her as I opened the door to face her parents. "What do you want?"

"Where are your parents we would like to speak with them about our daughter." it was the rich looking housewife with fake breasts speaking in a tone that made me want to tear out my ears. Her husband looked like he spent all day at the gym then had a side job as the model for some big company.

"My parents aren't in right now you'll have to come back later." I waved and went to shut the door. Nails that could be defined as claws scraped the door paint off as they clenched right above my hand.

"Wait we can talk with then," the lady said smiling a fake smile. "You haven't be any chance have my dear little Amanda do you? See she got upset over a silly little argument and ran off. I wish to reconcile with the angel and go home."

I looked at the door and rolled my eyes I would have to fix that. She seemed upset that I would ignore her. "Go away before I call the cops." I went to shut the door again but the claws grabbed my shoulder.

"Sweetie I only wish to get my daughter."

"Don't touch me filth," I said slapping away hand. "Even if your daughter was here I can tell you she wouldn't come out voluntarily. In fact she will be staying the night at my place so I sent her on some errands. You kind of people are what disgust me the most. Kids aren't tools they are something to treasure." I slammed the door shut and turned the lock. I let out a sigh before leaning back on the door.

"Amanda come home mommy and daddy love you!" there were more knocks on l

the door.

"I'm calling the cops right now!" I yelled back. I heard a few mumblings and then the car pull out of the driveway. "Thank you lord." I looked up and jumped back a step. Amanda was leaning in towards me because she was taller than me at this point in time. "What the hell is wrong with you!"

"Girls shouldn't use that language."

"Yeah so what? I'm letting you stay here so I wouldn't say anything to upset me." I started walking to the kitchen. It was almost time for dinner and I was in the mood for spaghetti.

"I think we'll be the best of friends."

I never had friends because I hated everything they did it always came back to stab you. Friends were the enemy I hadn't had nice times with people who called them selves that. "I don't need friends."

"Lone wolf huh? Me too I think we will get along fine then. Where we going?" she said following me.

My first impression was that she was annoying but as the night went on I came to like her for what she was. By the following morning we were best friends.
