Family? What's that?

"I...I want to die."

My eyes widened and I grabbed both of Charlie's arms.
"Are you crazy?"

Wait, what am I doing?
I released my grip on him.

I shouldn't act like this. I came back for revenge after all.
He can die if he wants to.
No one is stopping him.

Charlie spoke again with a little quiver in his voice.
"I had a brother."

I turned to Charlie, and stopped to listen.
James and Gary also gathered around.
They must be utterly confused why this random person started talking about his life story.

I mean, all I wanted was sleep and this is what I get.
Why? Why does god do this to me? Especially right now when I'm tired as shit?

Oh wait...
The irony.
I'm technically the Lord of the Sky. God himself. Haha...ha......ha...
I really have no life.

"His name was Steward and he went missing about three years ago."
I snapped out of my daydream.

"Today...was the day he disappeared."

...Okay?
Wait what?
Today?

I looked up at the red sky. The ombre of colors were gone and I felt sad for some reason. There was a long deep silence. The only thing I heard was the tree leaves rustling.

"Sorry to hear that." I muttered and Charlie shook his head.

"Everything is my fault. He died. It's all because of me."

I wanted to cuss him out. It wasn't just because of him. It was because of the shitty hellhole I was born in. The whole so called family who treated me like I was a cockroach.

I swallowed my anger and managed to choke out words.
"And so you want to die because he died? Does that make any sense to you?"

Charlie looked at me with a serious expression, and another drop of tear fell.
"If I see him when I die, I'll give him a proper apology."

I scowled and Gary and James jumped back.
My eyes flared a bright yellow.

Charlie gasped and rubbed his eyes in surprise.
By that time, my eye color had returned back to normal.

He laughed weakly.
"I really am going crazy. My mind is playing tricks on me."

I didn't laugh with him.

Charlie looked at me in desperation and clapped his hands together like he was praying.
"Please Raymond...you saved me once. But please...save me again. Just this one time. Please end my misery."

Unbelievable...
I clenched my fist. He's really begging to be killed.
Has anyone told him not to mess with a god?

"No." I said firmly.
He looked up at me as if to say, 'who are you to say no?'

With anger, he pulled out a gun from his jacket." Then I'll do it myself." He yelled.

"WOAH!" Gary and James shouted in unison, trying to stop the gun.

Too late.

I pursed my lips and shut my eyes tightly as I reached my hand out to stop the bullet.
