"What are you doing?" Agent 3 asked me. There were laser beams shooting out of his eyes.
I felt goosebumps tingling up my arm.
Ehh...I gotta admit...He still kinda scared me.
"I said..." Agent 3 muttered.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"Damn.
I rubbed my ears.
That big mouth of his really...
I ought to just duct tape that thing.I sighed and crouched down to the table.
How am I going to do this? I can't grab it with my left arm since it's an acid bomb...
There was a heavy clanging behind me and I snapped my head back to see what was going on.
As soon as I did, I felt my body flying.
My head slammed right against the wall and I fell down with a thud.Fuck...
What was that?
I held onto my head and felt a liquid seep through the back of my head.Bleeding...I'm definitely bleeding. I don't even have to look.
"Are you alright Agent 3?"
My eyes widened as I tried to get up, but fell back to the ground.
My ears were ringing and I tried to shake it free. That voice...
Isn't that Dr. Cory's voice?I snuck a glance and saw her hands glowing blue.
"I'm fine. You arrived on time. How are the others?"
Dr. Cory's voice sounded again. "I've only been able to help two groups but had to come when you didn't reply back to me. Thank god Ena was in one of the groups that I saved or else I wouldn't have been able to find you. They're on their way to save everyone else. I already sent them coordinates."
I winced and clenched my fists.
"This eccentric king was planning on guarding the bomb until his last breath." Agent 3 grumbled.
Suddenly the voices grew more and more distant.
What's that..?
Why can't I hear? The only thing left was a ringing in my head.
The agents and Steven continued to open their mouths but I could not hear a single word.
Are they playing a trick on me?I grabbed my head in confusion.
No...no...why?
"WHY?!" I felt myself yell at the top of my lungs and yet I heard nothing.
I punched the ground and shook the table legs.
"WHY IS IT MAKING NO SOUND?! WHY?!"My eyesight grew blurry as my head spun in circles.
I could just make out the outlines of the agents looking at me. I couldn't see their faces but I saw their hands, reaching towards me.
I clenched my jaw and smacked it away.
There were more outlines gathering in the room.
I kept blinking but my vision just grew darker and darker as more outlines seem to be heading in the small, cramped room. No–I have to keep my promise at least...
I have to...I began feeling the ground, the table legs and finally felt a burning sensation.
I yanked my hands away and gasped.
Okay...so the acid bomb is there.Without hesitation, I pressed the FN button firmly and heard a sizzling noise.
I hope this works.
Even though my vision is growing darker, the acid bomb seemed to be glowing a dark red color.
I took a deep breath and quickly snapped the acid bomb off from the table.
Within seconds, I pulled down my mask and shoved the frozen bomb into my mouth. In my peripherals I could see the outline of people running towards me.
Dr. Cory's hands glowed blue again but her telekinesis wasn't faster than me this time.I felt the ice melt immediately inside of my mouth, followed by an unbearable pain that I couldn't even describe correctly.
It felt as if there were thousands of daggers forced down my throat at once.
No–not that.Worse...way worse.
The acid making it's way down my throat and in that moment, I saw my life flash before my eyes.
This is it.
All of my moments, sad or happy, rapidly spurred in my head.Charlie...
Dad...
Mom...I'm sorry I burned the house down...
I'm sorry that I was the cause of dad's death.
I'm sorry that I wasn't a good kid.I'm sorry...
Tears welled up in my eyes as I see more outlines bending over me.
They were opening their mouths and shaking me.It's come to this and they were still not making a sound? Are they really that glad that I'm dead?
...It's fine.
As long as everyone's safe.I looked up at the ceiling as it got dimmer and dimmer.
But even when it was dim, a saw a light in the distance.
