Jack and I are closer than ever. He's my best friend and we have each other's back. He's been sitting with me every single day and not with his group of friends— the populars. I'd ask him why he was sitting with me and not his other friends and he would always say how I was his best friend and he didn't want me to be sitting by self because he said he would be the worst best friend if he let me sit by myself.

People have been noticing how I hanged out a lot with Jack and I could tell when people would always be staring at me and whispering about me. I would get uncomfortable from all the girls' stares but Jack would tell me not to worry about it.

It was a Friday afternoon and it was lunch. Jack was sitting across from me and we were talking about how we would be in the future. Jack, being himself, was talking about his hair. Jack was always trying to make his hair perfect and didn't like it when people touched it, in case they would mess it up.

"You know what would be crazy?" Jack said and I cocked up an eyebrow, "What if—what if I had a perm and make my hair curly?"

I laughed at his statement and shook my head, "I cam already imagine it. The Jack Avery, looking like a poodle."

Jack gasped and pretended to be hurt, "Excuse me, I would pull off curls. Plus, curls get the girls." I chuckled at his response and shook my head once again.

"You seriously want to get curls?" I asked him and he nodded.

            "I would look even hotter."

"I don—" I was interrupted by a voice that standing next to our table.

"Hey Jacky." I turned my head to see a familiar girl. She sat with the populars and was a cheerleader, considering she was wearing her cheerleading outfit.

Jack laughed awkwardly, "Uh, hey Elliana."

"Don't be silly Jacky, you know you can call me Ellie." She said and sat down on the chair next to him. She put her hand on her shoulder and I raised my eyebrows, was she seriously flirting with him right now?

"Yeah... Ellie." Jack responded, giving her a tight smile. He took off her hand that was placed on his shoulder. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to ask why you weren't sitting with us—" She turned to face me and gave me a disgusted look, "—and you were with her."
