You sat at your desk, scratching at the wood surface in boredom. It was lunch time, and you had already eaten, so you simply sat at your desk tiredly, having nothing better to do - well, it was more accurate to say there were things you could be doing, but simply chose not to do them.
You sat thoughtful for a moment, before an idea came into your head, and you reached into your bag, pulling out a book which had been given to you as a gift from you friend, Gonta. It, of course, was about all kinds of bugs. While you weren't entirely fond of bugs - not to the extent that he was - you were grateful.
You flipped absentmindedly through the pages, mostly apathetic towards the bugs shown, until you came to one page which made you stop and stare. On the double page spread were some of the most incredible butterflies you had ever seen, and you stoped to stare in awe for a moment. Could these actually be real creatures? They looked so surreal.
Gonta's timing was near perfect, as he chose that moment to step into the classroom, with the intentions to checking up on you, as he would always do throughout the day - he had to take care of his lady friend, after all.
"Y-You're reading the book that Gonta gave you?" He asked, making you visibly jump in fright. "I-I didn't want to scare you! Gonta so sorry!"
"It's fine," You smiled after a moment, pressing a hand against your racing heart. "Yeah, it's pretty interesting. I was just admiring the butterflies... Aren't they incredible...?"
Gonta nodded. "Gonta thinks all bugs are incredible, but butterflies extra special, like miss Y/N."
You blushed faintly and he moved closer, peering over your shoulder at the page you had been staring at, before almost jumping in shock.
"Y-You like these ones?!"
"Yeah, why?" You asked, turning to look at him, and almost falling back at how close the large boy was. "Is there something wrong with that...?"
"Gonta can show them to you!" He cheered excitedly, and a rush of joy shot through you as well. He looks so happy... He held a hand out to help you up. "Come with Gonta!"
You nodded happily and took his hand, allowing him to loop his arm through yours and lead you carefully out of the classroom, and school building completely, holding every door open for you on the way. Despite his intimidating nature, he really was such a gentleman.
He lead you around the back of the school, and while being with anyone else would make this seem sketchy, considering it was only Gonta, you were as relaxed as you could ever be, in fact, you didn't think you'd feel as safe with anyone else.
Right before you, almost completely unnoticed to you before now, was a stretch of woodland, and you felt rather foolish for not knowing that it had been there before. Gonta confidently lead you into the tree line, down various paths, until the trees slowly petered out, and once you arrived at your destination, your breath caught in your throat.
Stretching before you was a grove, almost perfectly untouched by man, the only sign anyone had even found this place was the wrought iron bench sat to the side of the clearing. You were amazed, watching something incredible. Swooping through the grove like a pack of birds was a swarm of butterflies - exactly like the ones in your book, except seemingly more vibrant.
Gonta lead you towards the bench and you sat down next to him, letting your hand slide down his arm to link your fingers through his. He blushed, but did not protest as you watched the endless butterflies swooping through the grove.
It was an incredible experience and it gave you shivers, and you squeezed Gonta's hand lightly.
"You like?" Gonta asked apprehensively after a moment, looking for your approval. You smiled up at him joyfully.
"It's amazing! Thank you!" You leaned your head against his shoulder and you saw a faint pink coating his cheeks. You admired the butterflies again.
"Gonta is glad you like it." He said bashfully, but with as much pride as he could muster.
"They're beautiful..." You mumbled in awe.
"Gonta thinks you are more beautiful..." He said shyly, and your face heated with a blush.
"Thank you, Gonta..." You smiled before leaning in and planting a soft kiss on his lips. When you pulled back, his entire face was red, but he was smiling widely. Adorable...
