[Requested][Fluff][Short & hopefully sweet again because I'm really bad at writing fluff I'm sorry][If this is a disappointment I'm sorry, but Ryoma has a lemon in the cue to be written so I hope that'll make up for it ;w;][POSSIBLE TRIGGERS; Social anxiety, panic attacks]
~
Life was good right now.
It wasn't always often you could say that, but today warranted it, you decided. Your hand was softly looped with Ryoma's as you wandered calmly through the park. It was peaceful, and one of his rare public displays of affection. He never was one to be big on PDA, but after decided that he didn't treat you enough, and taking you out on a date, he decided the situation warranted it, no matter the looks people shot the two of you.
True enough, you were an odd looking pair, and you attracted more than a few questioning looks, but a sharp glare from Ryoma was normally enough to run them off. He didn't like to be violent, or aggressive, but for you, he would make an exception, knowing that you had a particularly sensitive and gentle soul.
"Aren't the flower beautiful?" You asked softly, a faint pink on your cheeks as you admired a bush of pink flowers the two of you passed by.
"Not as beautiful as you," Ryoma spoke softly, half hoping that you wouldn't hear his cliché declaration of your beauty. But of course, you did, and smiled down at him softly with a charmingly faint blush. His own cheeks turned red, though he looked away to hide it.
"Oh?" He heard your questioning voice and looked up ahead of you, following your gaze. "What's going on?"
"I don't know," Ryoma grunted softly as he eyed the large group of people up ahead. "Did you know this was going on today?"
"No idea," You shook your head softly and gave his hand a light squeeze.
Up ahead, blocking off almost the entire area of the park, were a group of countless people. If you had to guess, it would easily be over one hundred people, mostly teens or young adults, with a group of seven boys stood in the middle, all wielding cameras, talking to them, the people and each other animatedly.
"Youtubers?" You blinked and tilted your head in thought. You had no idea anyone would be here today, let alone a group of Youtubers hosting a local meet and greet, this half of the park was entirely swarmed with people. The only way to pass would be to go right through the crowd, and the prospect made your stomach flip in anxiety.
"We can turn back and go somewhere else if you want," Ryoma looked up at you cautiously, knowing all too well the grave anxiety that plagued you around large groups of people, but you took a deep breath, glancing to the picnic basket held in his other hand.
"No, we can go through," You nodded to him, before weaving towards the crowd, ready to attempt to push your way through. Of course you were aware of yourself, but you so badly wanted to get over you anxiety, and you decided that facing it head on might help a little. Also, you had been planning this picnic with Ryoma for so long, and now that you were finally getting to do it, you weren't going to let it slide at all. You had even picked out the perfect spot and everything, which was, unfortunately through the crowd and down into the little clearing in the park.
"Are you sure?" Ryoma asked a little more insistently, but you had already began weaving your way into the edges of the crowd, your hand linked with his.
It wasn't as bad as you thought, but your heart was still thumping hard in your chest. But the knowledge that Ryoma was right behind you made you feel so much safer, and the tight grip on his hand was definitely helping-
Until someone excitedly jostled into you, and you stumbled. It was an accident, of course, but your hand slipped from Ryoma's and as you quickly looked around the people, it seemed they had closed up around you.
Suddenly, you didn't feel quite so safe, and the people seemed to press in around you. The space felt much too tight and you could feel your breathing beginning to come shorter and shorter. You knew what was going on as your head began to feel light and it was becoming increasingly harder to stand, and it seemed like most of your functions had stopped working - you couldn't utter a single sound of concern to anyone around you, and no one seemed to notice the growing panic you were displaying.
You felt a hand clutch your numb one a few moments later, and you stumbled after the person as they dragged you from the crowd, your ears beginning to ring and everything felt very distant and you squinted, unsure why it was becoming so hard to see.
"Y/N! Y/N, come on, keep with me, sit down here," You heard a voice you recognised and upon squinting to see who it was, you realized quickly that it was Ryoma who had managed to work his way back to you in the crowd. He guided you to a low, flat boulder a little ways from the crowd and you shakily sat down, dropping your head between your knees, still highly aware of how difficult it was to catch any breath at all.
"R-Ryoma.." You choked out softly, and you felt his hand grip yours tighter, having never let go since he found you again, and his other hand rubbing your back softly.
"It's alright, I'm here," You heard him reassure, crouched in front of you. "Just breathe, okay? You're going to be alright, you're out now. Just breathe,"
After a while, your dizziness began to fade as your breathing eventually slowed to normal, and you managed to pick your head up from between your knees.
"You're good?" Ryoma asked, and you gave a weak nod.
"Yeah," You breathed out shakily. "I guess that was pretty stupid of me,"
"It was," Ryoma nodded and shot you a critical look, before shaking his head. "What if I weren't here to help you, huh?"
"I'm sorry," You murmured softly and fiddled with the soft sleeves of your hoodie, the one Ryoma had bought for you after seeing you staring at it longingly last time the two of you went shopping together. "I just wanted everything to be perfect, you know?"
"I know, it's not worth that," He shook his head and squeezed you hand lightly, standing and pulling you up with him once he was sure that you were stable enough to stand alone. "We're not going back until every single last person has cleared off,"
"Alright," You smiled at him softly, and as the two of you wove through the rest of the park, heading to your picnic spot by the small lake, you gave his hand a small squeeze, "Thank you for caring, Ryoma,"
With a small tug on your arm, he pulled you down to his level, and planted a small kiss on your cheek while his were a soft shade of pink, and you giggled softly.
"Anything for you, Y/N."
