Whatever you write or draw on your skin will show up on your soulmate, too.
~
You had no idea who your soulmate might be. Not the tiniest hint.
Most people you knew had simply cheated to find their soulmate, after too long. They wrote their name and location on their hand for it to appear on their soulmate, and waited for a name and location in return. Then, it would only be a case of meeting up.
Many other people would draw little pictures or give little hints to who they were, and play a soft of magical guessing game with each other, but in the end soulmates could always find each other if they wanted.
But, there had never been anything appearing on you.
You weren't sure why, but nothing had ever appeared on your body. Not at all. You guessed that either your soulmate didn't want to be found, or you simply didn't have one at all. Your skin remained entirely clean. Though, in all fairness, you had never really drew on yourself, either. So, you supposed your soulmate could be having the exact same thoughts.
You were sat in class at Hope's Peak Academy, next to your best friend, Korekiyo. You never actually knew much about him, when you actually thought about it. You knew what you could see, and work out for yourself, but Korekiyo would never give much away himself. You had to dig a little deeper, since all he ever wanted to hear about was what you had to say, rather than saying anything to you. He loved to listen.
"How do you never get tired of this?" You sighed, glancing down at the text book open in front of you, before glancing up to Korekiyo who seemed equally as disinterested as you, but you knew better than to make the mistake of thinking he didn't care about the subject. History had always been one of his favourites, and the chances were he was simply mulling over what he had just read.
"I suppose it can lose it's hook when you've read the same story a few times," Korekiyo mused before he flipped his text book shut. Of course he'd have read this before, he had a wealth of knowledge, beyond your own scope, and you did wonder how you ended up being best friends with someone like him. "Are you quite alright?"
"Yeah," You sighed and nodded. It wasn't a lie, but you were rather distracted, watching two of your classmates at the desk in front of yours and Korekiyo's. You never usually felt down about not having met your soulmate yet, but watching Kaede and Miu drawing pictures up their arms, and watching them appear on each other made you feel distinctly lonely.
You glanced to Korekiyo, wondering silently if he knew who his soulmate was, or if he even wanted to. You had never really seen him with anyone else, and almost the entirety of his skin remained covered constantly, so you wouldn't even know if his soulmate were covering him in masterpieces. He had never mentioned it, and you had never asked.
You glanced away from him again to avoid staring, and felt the faint pink blush creeping into your cheeks. You were never sure if you wanted to find your true soulmate or not. You couldn't deny the fact that you were pretty sure you had already fallen in love with Korekiyo, but was that wrong, when you might have someone out there, already waiting for you? Or someone waiting for him? You were always so conflicted.
You sighed softly and uncapped your pen, turning your palm face down on the table, staring at the blank back of your hand.
After a moment of thought, you began to draw on your hand, the lines swirling and connecting to form the neat shape of an artistic daisy, and just above it, you inked out the words 'he loves me not'.
You did it simply as a test, your eyes cautiously glancing around the room, staring at the back of people's hands, if they hadn't already had their soulmate's drawings on them. You didn't really expect results, but you thought you should try it anyway, just in case your soulmate turned out to be someone close to you.
You couldn't see everyone's hands, but then again, you didn't expect to. Everyone's hands remained blank - or at least, did not have your daisy on them.
Until you felt the back of your hand starting to tingle. You blinked in surprise, staring down at the back of your hand, watching the black ink slowly appearing on your hand. underneath your daisy, the words 'he loves me' complete your picture, and your heart leapt into your throat in excitement. There really was someone out there for you.
You turned to Korekiyo in excitement, only to stop short when you noticed the pile of bandaged on his desk in front of him, and his hand was entirely exposed. On the back, stark against the pale of his skin, was the daisy and words.
He wore his mask as usual, but the slight rise in his cheeks told the obvious story of his smile.
You watched in shock as he took the pen in his other hand, and drew a neat little love heart, central of the daisy, and you felt the gentle tingling as the heart too rose in your skin.
"My, my, soulmate~" Korekiyo chuckled, before taking your inked hand in his. "It seems I have finally found you~"
