"Are you okay?" Came the soft, calling voice of Kaito Momota. You nearly scoffed, the tears streaming down your face and clouding your eyes until the world was left a smear of colour behind your eyes. You only knew it was your lover thanks to his voice, usually loud but for once lowered in concern.

"What do you think?" You choked out softly, bringing your fists up to wipe the tears from your blotchy cheeks. Letting others see you like this was not something you ever enjoyed, in fact, you had half a mind to yell at him to get out of your room, right then and there. But really, as much as you hated to seem weak in front of people, you hated being alone in moments like this even more.

"Oh, (Y/N)..." He frowned, heading over to you, and tentatively sitting himself beside you. "Why didn't you come to me...?"

"You know I hate people seeing me like this." You sniffled out, barely able to look him in the eye, head and shoulder slumped in defeat.

"There's no shame in weakness every now and then, you know?" Kaito pulled you into his arms, warm and secure. You didn't make any move, but let the luminary of the stars cradle you in his arms. "You're so strong all the time, you can let me take over for now."

You couldn't help but fizzle down into sobs, though you tried to choke most of them back unsuccessfully. Your head throbbed and you pawed at your face, messy from crying.

"I must look so gross right now..." You mumbled, to divert from the fact that you'd rather die than talk about what was upsetting you. That was okay though. Kaito knew that you'd talk in time if you really wanted to. He didn't mind waiting for you, not at all.

"You're always stunning!" He offered you a cheesy grin, and a strangled giggle was drawn from you. Your astronaut lover always did make you feel better, even if it were only a tiny bit.

"I know you're lying, but..." But the smile remained on your face anyway as you slowly uncurled your arms from where they'd been braced around yourself, instead wrapping them around his mid-section.

"How could I ever lie to someone so cute?" He poked your cheek while you rested the other softly against his chest, still faintly sniffling. His arms were curled around your smaller frame, and he gladly drew you in closer once you returned the embrace, his warmth and strong arms enveloping you, giving you a sense of calm and safety.

"Quite easily." You joked back with you voice slightly torn from your crying.

There was a few moments of quiet as Kaito had the sense to remain quiet, allowing you the moment of calm in his peaceful embrace. Your breathing began to slow and the tears gradually stopped forming, even if your eyes did burn intensely. You blinked them drowsily a few times in the hopes of easing the sting.

"It's gonna be okay, you know?" He said after only a couple of moments of quiet.

"Huh?" You glanced up at him, through still damp lashes. He just smiled down at you in return. Something about his broad smile brought you immeasurable comfort.

"Whatever it is that's got you upset or stressed, it's going to be okay, you hear me?" He nodded encouragingly, and you merely gave a faint smile.

"Things aren't always quite that simple, Kaito. Don't get me wrong, I love your positivity, but sometimes it isn't always enough." You let your eyes close again, to ease the irritation, just listening to his soft breathing, feel the gentle rise and fall of his chest against your cheek, the very faint but comforting thumping of his heart, pulsing strongly in his chest.

"I don't see why not." His smile never faltered. "Whatever this stress is, it's not gonna last forever. Time moves forwards, and soon enough this whole ordeal or whatever it is will be old news, okay?"

"It's just the getting there that's the hard part." You nodded, with a faint smile of appreciation pulling onto your features. "Sometimes you feel powerless... Like no matter how you handle it or what you chose to do, there's no right answer, you know what I mean? Some obstacles feel too big to overcome."

     There was a thoughtful silence.

"Think about how big space is, (Y/N)." You faintly groaned with a slight laugh, but he gave you a slight squeeze in his arms. "No, just listen, hear me out! Think of how big it is. There's so much that could be out there, so many things to explore, so many possibilities, right? This universe is so huge, and the possibilities are infinite. So there's no way your solution isn't out there, right?"

"You're funny." You just mumbled, still with your faint smile, though you understood exactly what he was trying to say.

He just shook his head, you could feel his goatee slightly skim the top of your head.

"No matter what, you're gonna be okay, I promise. And until then, I, Kaito Momota, Luminary of the stars, will be here to hold your hand until you can work past this, okay?" You felt his kiss lightly against your head, and once again, you found yourself feeling a peace. "I love you."

"I love you too..." You echoed, and boy, did you mean it more than anything else you'd ever said before, your heart aflutter in your chest.

"I love you more." He said. "No matter what, (Y/N), I promise you, it's going to be okay."
