Ellie's POV

Luke wakes me up early the next morning. "What?" I yawn. "Ellie, I have a question," he says, "An important one. About our future as a family. We need to talk about it."

"Why so early in the morning?" I ask, sitting up a little. "Because it came to me, and I don't want to forget," he says. I nod. "Okay, I suppose it was going to happen sooner or later," I reply, "Why not five in the morning?"

"Ellie, its nine," Luke chuckles. I roll my eyes. "And we were up late for a party, yeah?" I ask. He nods. "Therefore," I say, "It is five on my sleep clock." "The world doesn't go by your sleep clock," he chuckles.

"So," I say, "What did you want to talk about." "Kids," he says immediately.

"Kids?" I ask, "You want to adopt now? Just as your tour is starting? Luke, you have to leave tomorrow." "I know," he says, "That's not what I was talking about. I was talking about later."

"You want to try?" I ask. He shakes his head. "No," he says, "I think adoption would be wise." I nod. "True," I say, "And I know the goods of that."

"And I was thinking that maybe today we could adopt a puppy," he says, "So you don't have to be lonely while I'm touring."

My eyes widen. "Really?" I ask, excitedly. He nods. "Yeah, I'm going to be gone for six months, so you need some company," he says. I squeal. "What are we waiting for!" I exclaim. I grab his hand and pull him out of bed.

Once we finish eating and getting dressed for the public, I pull him outside and into the car. "So," I say, "Where are we going to get this puppy?"

"The animal shelter," he tells me, "The puppies there are already trained and stuff, so you won't have to worry about anything." "Perfect," I say. He drives into downtown to the animal shelter.

Believe it or not, paparazzi somehow followed us here.

"I posted it on twitter," Luke admits, "Sorry." "Its cool, this is why I dressed nice," I say, laughing. We walk into the crowd hand-in-hand, and don't stop until we get to the door.

"Why hello!" the lady exclaims, "What will you be here for today?"

"Well," Luke says, "I'm leaving for tour tomorrow, so I wanted to get a dog for my lovely wife to keep her company. It needs to be something cute, fluffy, already trained, a lap dog, but energetic enough to run."

The lady smiles. "We've got just the dog," she says, "Our one year old maltese puppy, Blue." She leads us to the cage with the little puppy.

I know what malteses are. They normally have super long hair, but this has the hair cut off, so it is just a little fluff ball, that's how I like it.

She lets Blue out of her cage. "She is neutered too," she adds. I smile as the small dog jumps at us and licks our faces. I laugh. "She's perfect," I tell Luke. He smiles. "I agree," he says.

"Great! Now all you'll have to do is sign the adoption papers," the lady tells us. "I'll do that," Luke says. The lady puts Blue on a leash. "Come with me,"she says.

Once Luke finishes signing papers, we are free to take her home. We get in the car and drive. "We have to stop somewhere to buy food and stuff," Luke tells me, "I'll go in and you can stay in the car with the puppy." I nod as he pulls into a small grocery store.

The little dog curls up on my lap and I smile and pet it. Seriously, this has to be the cutest little thing. It turns over on its back and I rub its belly.

Luke eventually comes back. As soon as he sits down, Blue climbs onto his lap and licks his face. "Now I'm going to miss you too," he says, chuckling. It curls up on his lap and I pet her as we drive home.
