Ch 10

Ellie's POV

"So, what are we doing tonight?" I ask. "I was thinking maybe a movie?" Lennie asks. "Sounds nice," I agree, "but what movie?"

"How about something at Ashton and my house?" Mia suggests. "Cool!" Jaime says.  "I've never been to your house," I say. "I've never been to any of your houses, so this is all new to me," Lennie says. I laugh. "You'll get used to it eventually," I promise.

I park in Mia's driveway and we all get out of the car and go into the house.

"Welcome to the Irwin household," she says. I smile when I see it. The decor is totally Mia, and she did a great job.

"You like it?" she asks. "It's beautiful," I tell her. "Wish my house was this nice," Lennie says, "Mikey's house is pretty nice, but I'm stuck in an apartment."  "Are you currently in his house?" Jaime asks. She nods. "He wanted me to be comfortable while he was gone," she tells us.  She looks down at her feet.

We all sit down. "What's wrong?" I ask.  "I....I don't know if he's the right one," she admits, blushing.

"What?!" Jaime shouts, jumping up. "Oh boy," Mia groans. I slap my forehead. "What?  I-I just don't kn-know," she stutters, tears brimming her eyes. "Lennie..." I start. Jaime knows more, they're cousins, I'll let her explain.

"Lennie," she says, "You can't just toy with Michael's emotions. He...He's a sensitive guy. You either like him or you don't, but you can't just fuck around with him when he has real feelings for you. I mean, maybe if you were just friends with benefits, but you've only done it once, so he obviously feels something for you. He's only ever felt that way once, and then the girl broke his heart. He almost couldn't take it."

Lennie's eyes are watery. "What I'm trying to say is he loves you, and if you leave him, please don't break him hard because he'll take it hard."

I look at Lennie. "You okay Len?" I ask. She smiles. "H-He loves me?" she asks, sniffing.  "Quite a lot," Jaime replies. Lennie smiles. "I need to call him when they get off their plane," Lennie says, frantically, "I have to tell him how I feel! I told him I wasn't sure last night, oh my God, I need to tell him!"

"When Luke calls, we'll all call our men," I tell them.

"What movie should we watch?" Mia asks.  We're all on our couches in sweaters, cuddled up with air conditioners on so we don't sweat to death.  "We have Insidious, The Fault in Our..."

"No no no," we all shout. Mia giggles. "I figured," she says, "So it's Insidious, The Avengers, Batman, Les Miserables, or...".  She stops and looks at the last movie. "What is it?" I ask.

"I swear I left this one at home," she says, "I haven't seen this in years."  "What?" Jaime asks. Mia stands up and smiles like an idiot as she hugs the movie to her chest like she would never let go.

"Only the single greatest movie ever," she says, "The movie that changed me, us maybe even. The movie that makes me laugh, scream, and cry. The movie with only the best music...from a few years back that is. The movie that has a near and dear spot in my heart. The movie that..."

"What is it?!" I ask. "This." She starts, "Is. US!!!!" 

"Yessss!" I shout in response. "Ohmigawd the one direction movie?!" Lennie asks, "Yay!!"  "Mia, I officially love you more than ever," Jaime says. Mia smiles. "So, Batman?" she asks. "Miaaaa," I groan. "Alright alright," she says, putting in the movie. As the commercials go through, we get some movie food.

"Popcorn, rootbeers, candy," Mia says. "Ice cream?" I ask, "I'm really feeling some ice cream."  "Yeah me too," Lennie says. "And ice cream," Mia adds. We run into the living room and flop on couch.
