Ansley's POV

I wake up the next morning and start sobbing.

Grandad and I were always very close, he always helped me, and he would always tell me what to do.

FLASHBACK

"Grandad, I'm really scared about the band tryout," I say.

I had a huge tryout to play cello with my favorite band, Confetti Blowout It was a band made up of five girls. Kiara is the lead singer and bassist, Aria plays guitar and back up vocals, Allison plays back up guitar and back up vocals, Annette does piano and some back up vocals, and Eilis plays the drums, and occasional violin.

"Well, don't be!" he exclaims, "You're the best cello player I've ever met!"  "I'm the only cello play you've ever met," I grumble, sitting down beside him.

He puts his hand on his back. "Think about it, Ansley Pansy," he says, "You are one of the few cellists your age, but you are amazing. And you wouldn't have gotten this tryout. I believe in you."

"Really?" I ask. He nods. "You are amazing Ansley, you'll do great things one day."

He was always there, through the tryouts and small amount of tours.

Mum and dad were there also, but grandad seemed to always have something inspiring to say, something to get me through everything confidently.

Dad walks in my room and I look up at him. He is crying a little, gentle tears roll down his face. He puts his arms around me and I cry into his chest.

"I'm sorry daddy," I whisper.

"It'll all be okay in the end, it will," he whispers back, though I'm not sure that he is convincing himself.

"You want to come to the hospital with me today?  Your mum and brother are busy," he says. I nod. We leave the house together, looking terrible.

Wes' POV

"So, where did you go the other night when your dad came home from the bar?" mum asks me as we drive to my football practice.

"I told you, I was with Ethan and Brad," I reply. She sighs. "Whatever, have fun out there," she says as she pulls into the driveway of the school, "Uncle Ashton will be picking you up, and you will be staying with him for the night."

"Wait, what?!" I ask. "Yeah, Uncle Ashton will be picking you up," she replies, "I'm having a girl's night with your Aunt Mia, Lennie, Jaime, Taylor, and Maria."

"But Uncle Ashton.." I start. "Don't you get me started Wes," I tell him, "Your Uncle Ashton is an amazing man, I promise. And besides, your voices spun the same, like kangaroos."  "An amazing man who always spazzes out on me," I mumble before getting out of the car.
