"BRENT's department is included sa acquaintance party ninyo! Are you going?"

"Kapag ni-require lang, I'm not interested at all," walang gana kong sagot kay Richelle.

"Didn't you hear what I said? Same date 'yung party niyo!"

"Nakalimutan mo na ba? May girlfriend 'yung tao. Siguradong hindi na 'yon pupunta ro'n. Tingin mo ba papayagan siya ni Professor Sandoval?"

"Brent is still your crush!"

"Shut the trap, Richelle. Let's respect their boundaries, okay?"

"Kung tinatanggap mo na ngayon o naniniwala ka nang may relasyon silang dalawa, ibig ba sabihin niyan totoo lahat ng sinabi ni Robles noon?"

As my fingers knotted together, a sense of betrayal crept in. Maybe Jazzver was onto something, and Brent's motives weren't as pure as I had believed.

"Kung nagsasabi man ng totoo si Robles, hindi nila ako magagamit."

"But if not? And what if Brent and the professor are not really together? Let's open ourselves up to the idea, even if the odds are stacked against us."

It's a thought that I couldn't entertain, a notion so unsettling that I refused to even acknowledge after seeing the kiss.

Para naman maiba ang usapan dahil kanina pa ako dinedemonyo ng kaibigan ko, hinila ko siya sa notice board para tingnan ang update tungkol sa Cast of Characters ng Once on This Island. Maraming kumpulan ng students sa harap ng bulletin board, mukhang pinagkakaguluhan ang bagong anunsyo. Hindi na rin kami makasingit kaya nag-online na lang ako para i-check ang school website.

Daniel Beauxhomme's Ti Moune's love interest and the male protagonist in Once on This Island. The official page of Cambridge University now features the announcement of the actor who will bring him to life in the upcoming Grand Variety Show.

"Brent Laczamana," I muttered, reading the official announcement. Richelle's giggles bubbled up next to me as if she had foreseen this revelation all along.

"So, alam mo na? Bakit hindi mo sinabi sa 'kin agad?" Kinurot ko siya sa tagiliran, ang sarap itapon, eh!

"Madalas kayong magkasama noong nakaraan, hindi mo man lang ba napansin? Brent has been training for the role since the get go. Kabisado na nga niya mga broadway songs niya, eh. Ang angas, 'di ba?"

The role of the main character in that play holds no sway over me. The puzzle pieces have fallen into place. Professor Sandoval was warning me against accepting the offer because Brent is, in fact, the enigmatic Daniel Beauxhomme, and if I were to take the part, I'd be cast as his leading lady.

"COME in, Miss Zamantha!" nakangiting pagtanggap ni Sir CJ sa akin.

I had been granted enough time to weigh his offer carefully, yet the timing of my arrival in his office felt off. To my dismay, Professor Sandoval was there, engrossed in conversation with him, making it an awkward moment to interrupt.

"Miss Zamantha, your presence in my office leaves me to speculate an affirmation. Have you arrived at a final decision, or is there still deliberation to be had?"
