Chapter 47 - Setback

TAMED XLVII - SETBACK

IT'S crazy to think that one moment can change everything. When she casually asked me about it last night, it felt like the world stopped spinning for a second. After her more definitive declaration today and as I recall the events of yesterday, my heart is brimming with love and happiness. These beautiful moments with her will be forever imprinted in my mind and in my heart.

"I can't believe it! It's so nice to meet you, Rhio!" Saint was taken aback, with her eyes and mouth wide open in surprise as she shook hands with the professor.

"Zamantha, I'm sorry hindi ko alam na may girlfriend ka pala."

"Why are you saying sorry?" diretsong tanong ng propesora sa kanya matapos niyang bawiin ang kanyang kamay.

"She told me about her itinerary to visit Pix Aven Hue before, which I knew as a place for couples. Ang sabi niya wala raw siyang boyfriend kaya inaasar ko na huwag na siya magbalak pang pumunta kung mag-isa lang siya kasi mamamatay lang siya sa inggit do'n."

My girlfriend's eyebrow went up. "Did you consider going there with her?"

"I did ask her, but not for a date. I invited her to watch my game mamaya. Akala ko rin kailangan niya ng chaperone or a friend to help her out kasi ang laki ng Casa Grande, bilang traveler mas maganda pa rin kapag may kakilalang taga rito."

"She doesn't need anyone now but me, Saint. Thanks for the offer." Miss Rhio smiled not baring her teeth, picking up a bag from the couch and gave it to me. "Now, baby change your clothes. I can't wait to go to the Pix Aven for our next date."

Tumingin ako sa kanya nang makahulugan, patago niya lang akong inirapan, gusto kong ngumisi pero mas malakas ang pangambang baka totoong badtrip na ito sa 'kin.

"I see that now. You guys are such a gorgeous couple!" Saint exclaimed with admiration.

Iyon ang huling narinig ko at hindi na nagdalawang isip tumungo sa fitting room. As much as I wanted to stay in these clothes, I knew I couldn't go out with a walking goddess while looking like this. It's a date, so I wanted to look my best. I realized how important it is to look cute today, especially with her by my side.

Siguraduhin lang niyang hindi niya 'yon sinasabi dahil threatened siya sa mga sinabi ng Santong 'yon.

Dalawang pamatong na damit ang pinagpilian ko, ayoko 'yong manipis kaya naman iyong longsleeve na white cover-up ang ginamit ko. I left the three buttons in front of me undone to let the air in and quickly cool down. Wala na si Saint sa tabi niya at naka-poke facer na ito pagdating ko.

Nauna siyang lumabas na walang imik. Siguro mga kalahati ng kinse minutos kaming hindi nag-usap. Matagal na 'yun para sa 'kin. Bawat segundo namin dito ay dapat sinusulit na namin. Time really flew by, I can't believe it's our final day and night.

Bakit nga ba bigla siyang nanahimik? May pinag-usapan kaya sila ni Saint habang wala ako kanina?

"Saint went home already," she informed me, her tone grave.
