Chapter 40 - Her Gravity

TAMED XL - HER GRAVITY

HER last statement hit me like a ton of bricks, leaving me paralyzed and unable to react. I stood outside, my mind consumed with her message, searching for some semblance of understanding.

After much reflection, I've come to the conclusion that being honest with yourself and others is the only way to true happiness, and while it may be ironic that she still brings me happiness despite the pain, it's the truth. She still remains my source of happiness, even with all the pain that come with it.

"Why are you here?" gulat niyang untag nang madatnan ko ito sa loob ng kwarto.

She's sitting on the floor with her face buried in her hands. Akala ko ay ako lang ang nagdusa sa labas, pati rin pala siya rito. Nagtatago sa sariling anino sa side door na kung hindi ko pa siya sinilip doon pagkatapos kong buksan ang pinto ay mapipilitan akong halughugin ang buong silid.

"It's amazing how the force of your since forever pulled me towards you," I said, chuckling as her eyes widened in surprise.

"Would it be too time-consuming to knock?"

"Bukas ang pinto, ibig sabihin ay gusto mo akong pumasok."

As soon as I asked my question, she stood up, her face flushing with anger as she shot me an angry look. "How dare you! This is my place, and I have every right to tell you that if knocking hurts your knuckles, you can use a tool, your head, or even your foot to knock!"

Lumabas siya ng kwarto at naglakad-lakad sa may living loom para lang makalayo sa 'kin na parang tanga. I couldn't help but notice that she does these peculiar things when she's feeling anxious or uncertain.

"Parang 'yung ginawa mo sa pintuan ni Trina? Pasensya na pero hindi ako marunong magwala."

Her reaction was priceless, and I found myself smirking involuntarily.

"Hindi ako nagwala!"

"Ah, hindi ba?" I said with a smirk and a shake of my head, just as she was about to exit. "You can't keep running forever, Rhio."

Napamura na lang ulit ako dahil sa pagtama ng pinky toe ko sa pintuan nang subukan ko siyang pigilan. Bakit ba lagi na lang 'tong nangyayari sa 'kin? Masakit, nagising ang buong diwa ko sa sobrang sakit no'n pero hindi ko na alintana.

"Zamantha! Put me down!" she exclaimed when I picked her up bridal-style and carried her.

Magmimistula na naman kaming mga bata rito kapag hinayaan ko na naman siyang takasan ang mga salitang binitawan niya. Hindi ko siya pakakawalan hangga't hindi niya 'yon binibigyan ng hustisya.

"Inaantok na ako," I exhaled and casually threw her onto the bed, shrugging as I did so.

"Oh crap!" she yelped, giving me a piercing glare. Tumama kasi ang ulo niya sa headboard ng kanyang kama dahil sa aking ginawa, it was cushioned after all. "Sleep outside! Don't come near me!"

Chuckling gently, I pulled her towards the bed and closed the distance between our bodies, pressing my face into her neck and holding her tightly.

"Zamantha, you're not supposed to be this close to me." Tinulak niya ako sabay lagay ng dalawang pillow sa gitna namin pero tinanggal ko lang 'yon at bumalik sa dati naming posisyon.

"I want you close to me," mahina kong bulong at lalong hinigpitan ang yakap sa kanya. There's no way to fully express how much I miss her. "This is just an 'I've missed you so much' hug and squeeze."

"Ang baho mo!" iritado niyang reklamo pero hindi na siya nagkalas pa.

Inamoy ko saglit ang sarili ko. "Hindi naman, eh. Ang importante mabango ka."
