"Your dad wants to know how you're doing," Faryn informed Soriya while holding her phone to her ear.

Soriya kicked her right foot from off of the dining chair when she finished tying her shoes. "Tell him I'm doing fine."

"She said she's doing fine, Quin," Faryn talked into the phone before grabbing her keys from the kitchen counter. "He wants to know how school is going, Bundy?"

"Can we catch up some other time," Soriya asked and threw her heavy school bag over her shoulder. "I have to get to school."

Faryn shook her head at her daughter and covered the mic on her phone with her hand, "You should be happy to talk to your father considering you haven't seen him in a while." She removed her hand from the mic to listen to what else Quin had to say.

Quin traveled a lot for his job. At the moment, he was handling his business all the way in Puerto Rico. Soriya was so used to him not being home that sometimes, she honestly forgot to miss him. Plus, she and Quin hardly shared a relationship due to his frequent work trips.

"Alright well, we'll see you soon." Faryn cooed at her husband. "Bye, baby."

She hung up her phone and then proceeded to scold Soriya with her eyes, "You know you wrong for that, right."

"Yep," Soriya replied lazily.

She sighed as she made her way out the door. Soriya rushed to Faryn's car, not wanting to listen to the rest of her mother's lecture. Even though Soriya had her own car, Faryn insisted on driving her daughter to school on her first day.

Once she got in, Soriya checked her phone for any recent messages. She noticed that her older sister, Dominique, had texted her.

💩

Would you be able to watch Cass today? I have some errands to run.

Idk, I might have something to do later on. I'll hit you up if I'm free, though.

Can you do so as soon as possible? I need to know like right now.

I said I was gonna let you know. My schedule doesn't work around your time.

Whatever Bundy.
If you didn't want to watch her you could've just said so.

Soriya decided that texting Dominique back was pointless. She always got butt-hurt over the smallest things. Dominique was beyond spoiled and always expected things to go her way.
