Hermione could feel her heart beating beneath her skin, the wild beat reminding her that she was still alive, that maybe she could get through this. Dodging a badly aimed jinx from a hooded figure, Hermione began searching for someone she knew. Blood and bodies littered the floor and the newly formed cuts and bruises on her skin ached as her hand, sub-consciously grabbed at her left arm, grabbed at the clothing where the horrid word was etched into her lay beneath. Sending a neatly aimed stupefy at a death eater, Hermione became vaguely aware of the woman dressed in black striding towards her, with no care in the world as though there wasn't a war happening around her at that exact moment. Her frizzy hair framed her hollowed face, changed from years in Azkaban.

"Well, well well. What do we have here", her voice snarled, as her mouth formed a smirk and her tongue licked her lips, "If it isn't my favourite mudblood. Such a shame that I didn't get to finish you off last time, maybe I could try again now?" Hermione's hand fumbled with her wand, her mind washed blank of anything that could protect her.

A sharp pain coursed through her as Bellatrix laughed with contempt. Another jet of red light left her wand and Hermione found herself writhing under the pain as it electrocuted through her. Blood began to pool around her and she could feel the cuts on her stomach, arms and legs as they appeared. Her vision blurred and her head pounded inside her skull.

"Please..." Hermione choked out "Please... stop"

"Hermione!", a familiar voice called. A mane of red hair caught Hermione's attention as she looked at the person that she loved. "Avada Kadavra", and with one jet of light, Bellatrix dropped to the floor, lifeless.

"Ron", his hand grabbed at hers, squeezing it. It left Hermione with comfort at the thought of him being there with her. He leant forward, kissing Hermione passionately, hoping that she would stay alive.

"Marry me." Ron asked bluntly

"What-Ron??"

"Marry me." He repeated.

"Yes.... Yes of course" Hermione replied before pressing her lips briefly to his lips.

"Give me your bag" Ron's voice commanded.

"What?"

"Your bag. Now!"

Hermione fumbled with her jacket before pulling out the purple beaded bag that was hidden inside. Ron snatched the small bag from her before reaching in a hand and pulling out the golden necklace that Hermione had kept since third year. Ron put the golden chain around Hermione's neck as his fingers made their way to the 3 small circles at the end of the chain. Spinning them around, Ron was unaware of his surroundings as a curse was aimed his way. He fell awkwardly to the ground, smashing his head as blood began to seep through his clothes.

As he fell, the time turner slipped from Ron's hand, smashing on the floor and the glass shattered, spreading the coloured sand inside over the thick, red consistency that surrounded them both.

"Ron..." Hermione choked out.

"I love you Hermione. I'm so sorry".

"I love you too"

A bright flash of blue light enveloped Hermione's body as she squeezed her eyes shut to clear away the brightness. Hermione could no longer hear Ron's pleads to stay with him and she felt completely alone before she disappeared altogether.

Please feel free to criticise me. This is my first book and I would love to hear your feedback, good or bad. If anyone has any better titles for the story that would be great. The chosen title will get a shout out next chapter.
