As the month dragged on, Hermione could feel herself becoming better. Both mentally and physically. She had officially seen Voldemort in the flesh since her mishap in time and although she had experienced recurring nightmares about him, Lily and the girls had been there each and every time for her even though only one understood her actual situation. Remus had implored her to see Madame Pomfrey for a sleeping drought on a particular bad week but still the stubborn witch she had always been, she refused.
After the night in the manor, the marauders and Lily had forgiven Hermione after her explanation of the fake relationship, making sure to purposely missing out the night in the Room of Requirement.
Matthew would occasionally throw winks and smirks to Hermione when they passed in the corridor which would result in a blushing bushy haired witch and a laughing Slytherin but the group of Gryffindors had learnt to ignore it.
Hermione had visited Dumbledore to return the elder wand to him. He had looked almost perplexed at first, his eyebrows furrowed, his glasses perched on the edge of his nose before a knowing look passed over him and he had returned the young witches worried glance with a smile and a thank you.
Things had seemed to go back to normal (whatever 'normal' was classed as when you were stuck years in the past with your friends' parents). But things were also quiet and after years in a war, Hermione had learnt that this was never good. She had expected an immediate reaction after stealing Voldemort's wand, even stares or mutters from the Death Eaters but she had visited the Slytherin common room many times with Matthew and nobody had mentioned a word. When alone with him, she had casually brought up the subject, but he had silenced her with a kiss and told her that he was dealing with it.
So yes, things seemed unusually normal.
Currently, she sat in the Gryffindor Common Room, reading a book as she sat next to Remus who had mirrored her action. She glanced at the watch on her wrist. 4 minutes and she could leave to see Matthew and even though their relationship was supposed to be fake, she couldn't deny the butterflies that erupted in her stomach and the smile that graced her face every time she saw him.
"Hermione, put the book down, we're discussing plans." Lily spoke, her face a picture of pure excitement.
She had been so into the book, she hadn't noticed the group gathering on the couches around her and the consistent shouting of her name.
"What plans?" the young witch asked sceptically.
"Halloween." Sirius replied, a smirk on his face as he rubbed his hands together mischievously.
And that's when it dawned on her. She'd double booked herself.
"Okay so here's the thing...." Hermione trailed off, unsure of how the group would take it.
"Do not try to get out of this Hazel. We're having a feast in the Room of Requirement. Halloween themed of course, and only Gryffindors, which unfortunately means that your boyfriend is not invited." James spoke, his voice almost annoyed.
"Haha, well here's the funny thing, I may have agreed to go to the Slytherins Halloween Party."
The group stared at her, none of them looking amused.
"Slytherin? But you're a Gryffindor...." Remus spoke, confused.
"Yes, but my boyfriend isn't unfortunately. Which reminds me, I need to go. It's game night." Hermione spoke, standing up and heading for the door.
"You are not going dressed like that. Not happening." Lily spoke before grabbing the bushy haired witches' arm and pulling her up the stairs to the dormitory.
