Silently pulling the covers away, Hermione quickly dressed before running down the steps that led to the Slytherin common room. Tiptoeing towards the portrait, she thought she had escaped the memories of last night without anybody seeing her but to her dismay, a voice shouted her from behind.

"And where do you think you're going Hermione?"

Hermione's breath seemed to get caught in her throat as she spun around on the spot, sighing in gratitude after noticing Narcissa sitting alone on a couch.

"Errm... my common room? Before Matthew wakes up specifically." Hermione stuttered.

"Did you and him...." The blonde witch trailed off.

The bushy haired girl nodded in reply. "But I don't remember it. I only remember snapshots from last night. And I'm hoping if I sneak away and never mention being here, then he might just believe that last night was all just a dream."

"Hun, not to burst your bubble but that isn't going to happen." Narcissa spoke, and Hermione felt her shoulders drop in disappointment. "I know this thing between you and him was meant to be purely for appearances but-"

And that was when Hermione finally seemed to wake up. Her rational brain seemed to switch on and hearing the young witch who sat in front of her speaking the words that only a few knew, Hermione let out a gasp.

"You knew? You knew?? How?" The bushy haired witch spat out.

"I'm your best friend, Dumbledore. I'm not as stupid as I seem. It's my business to know." Hermione's eyes seemed to widen, and her gaze seemed to follow towards the dormitories and as if knowing her thoughts, Narcissa spoke in a calming voice; "they don't know. Just me. And neither does Snake Face. I want to help though. I want you to trust me. I won't mention a word to anyone, but I want to help. Lucius follows his every command, begs at his knees and now he's imploring I do the same and I don't want things to be like that. I want my child to be raised in a safe place. I want him to be good, Hermione and that means helping you."

And even though, Narcissa had given Hermione a speech about how she knew and why she knew, her mind seemed to grab around only one word.

"Child?"

"I took a pregnancy test this morning. Seems like we were both busy last night."

"But-but your NEWT's, you can't take them if you're pregnant. You can't help me if you're pregnant. There might be a battle and you can't fight if you're pregnant." Hermione spoke, her thoughts racing, and a visual image of Tonks came to the forefront of her mind. She'd fought minutes after giving birth and look what had happened to her. She'd thoroughly messed the timeline up now, Draco wasn't meant to be born for another couple of months and if she hadn't have come to this era, games night wouldn't have even taken place (it was her idea).

"Don't worry. I've already been to Madame Pomfrey this morning. She performed a spell and I have to take these god-awful potions every morning, stops the pregnancy until you stop taking the potions." Narcissa spoke logically.

Hermione sighed in relief. It was going to be okay.

"Anyway, go. Go back to your Gryffindors and talk to Matthew later. Oh, and take this. I'm sure your head is aching after how much you drank last night." The blonde-haired witch added, passing a green bottle to Hermione.

"Thank you." Were Hermione's final words before she ran out of the portrait.

Hermione raced into the Gryffindor common room after speaking the password to a very unhappy lady who complained that people should not be returning to their own dormitories at 6 in the morning.
