Warning: Expletive. If you are uncomfortable with that sort of thing, please ignore it or change it. Thank you for taking time out of your day (or night, I know at least one of you is reading when its dark outside) to read this. I'm really grateful.

Exhausted from her day of lessons, Hermione ran to her safe spot. The Library. Harry and Ron had always teased her for her love of the library but the tranquillity and the silence soothed out Hermione's nerves. Sitting at a table, she could get lost in a book, whether it be muggle or magical, and it kept her worries at bay.

Grabbing her muggle book from her bag, she settled herself at the table she used to sit at with Harry and Ron. She couldn't help but miss them but she told herself that she'd have to get used to life without them. Ginny had once told her that you don't realise what you have until you lose it and at that exact moment she couldn't help but agree with her. Neville had told her that he would miss her if she ever stopped talking to him but now, she was the one who was alone. The one who missed him. The thought that he wasn't born yet, that Alice wasn't even beginning to think about having a baby boy, was like a slap in the face.

A cough sounded from in front of her, disrupting her reading. Placing a bookmark in her book, she looked up to the person who had disturbed her. A boy with black eyes, sallow skin and greasy black hair stood in front of her.

"Can I help you?" Hermione asked, trying not to snap at the young boy who greatly resembled his older self.

"This is my table." He stated, using his index finger to point to it, emphasising his point.

"I can't see your name on it. But you can still sit down, even if I'm sat here." Hermione snapped to him which made him jump back in shock.

Dropping his bag on the floor, he sat down opposite her before pulling out his books. He started his charms essay before looking up at the young witch who sat reading opposite him.

"Of mice and men eh? Didn't take you for a muggle book reader." Snape stated.

"One of my friends recommended it to me." She said as she thought of Luna, who had described the book as eye opening but vicious.

"Your mudblood friend?" He questioned, his thoughts flickering to Lily. Nobody could know that he loved her so he teased her mercilessly to hide his secret.

"SHE IS NOT A MUDBLOOD! HOW DARE YOU CALL HER THAT! YOU FOUL LOATHSOME EVIL LITTLE COCKROACH! DO SOMETHING USEFUL WITH YOUR LIFE INSTEAD OF DECIDING TO GET THAT TATTOO ON YOUR ARM!" Hermione screamed at him, knowing that at this point, he was indeed a death eater.

Lupin, who had been in a different section of the library, came running at the sound of Hermione shouts and Pince's failed attempts at quietening her. He grabbed her arms, picking up her bag, trying to pull her away from Snape.

"Oh, and by the way. George kills Lennie. There's no point you reading that book now" He added as Remus dragged her out of the library and to the Gryffindor common room.

All the way to the common room, Hermione had tried to get out of Remus' grasp but even as a teenager, he was strong. Once reaching their destination, he let her go, giving her bag back to her.

"I'm going to knock some sense into that boy. Get out of my way Remus." Hermione snapped to the sandy haired boy in front of her. Remus had moved in front of the portrait, blocking her exit.

"I can't. You'll do something you regret." Remus stated.

"I won't regret anything. Snivellus deserves everything he gets."
