Lost in time

Just not yet

The three boys stared at each other in shock, none of them muttering a word. Sirius ran after Hermione, needing to know what was going on but as he shouted her, she didn't stop. She sped up running inside the castle stopping outside Dumbledore's office.

"Hermione...." Sirius started.

"I'm so sorry Sirius." She replied, tears flooding her cheeks.

"I don't care whether you're a Dumbledore or a Granger. You're still Hermione to me. I wouldn't want you any other way." He wrapped his arms around her waist and brought her closer and lowered his lips to hers. His lips brushed against hers and he shivered at the breeze of cold he felt before moving his lips gently against Hermione's, pleased when she responded. He ran his tongue along the seam of her lips, begging for entrance and when she accepted, he nearly passed out in delight. His tongue ran along hers, entwining themselves together. He felt her knees buckle and he wrapped his arms more securely around her and he felt her hands run up his chest before one gripped onto his shirt, the other tangling themselves in his hair. He groaned and kissed her more passionately with everything he was worth, tasting every flavour of the witch in front of him. Hermione broke the kiss and Sirius trailed kissed across her jaw, down her neck leaving purple bruises behind. He needed her. She made him feel amazing. He ran his hands down her body, resting them on her hips.

"Sirius......" He looked up at her as she spoke. He stopped kissing her, but rested his forehead against hers. She shook her head, pushing him away and moving out of his eyeline. Sirius' arms fell to his sides and as he turned to look at the young girl, he tried to slow down his breathing.

"I can't do this" She whimpered as tears fell down her face. "I can't do this" she repeated. Sirius stepped forward to embrace but she took a step back. "I can't do this. I'm sick of it" She whispered. He stepped forward and pulled Hermione towards him, wrapping his arms around her waist. "I want to be with you. I want to kiss you like that all the time" she explained, weeping into his shirt. "But I can't. I can't explain it so don't ask me to." She cupped his jaw in her hand and an electric shock ran through his body. He melted into her touch, closing his eyes. Her touch felt so good to him but he knew that he couldn't be selfish at that moment in time. He had to show that he cared about her.

Opening his eyes, he looked into her orbs which were spilling tears and he sighed, knowing they couldn't be together as he embraced her once again. She rested her head on his chest, sobbing as she gripped onto his shirt. He rested his cheek on the top of her head as her breath on his collarbone sent chills through him.

"I'm so sorry" she muttered.

"It's okay" he said, kissing the top of her head. "Honestly. Maybe some time soon, it can happen, just not yet." he replied, copying her words that she had said to him just a few weeks prior.

"When I've sorted myself out. When I've sorted everything out. I just need to do that for myself. Then, we can." She trailed off as Sirius smiled to himself. "I have to see Dumbledore." She stated. "Uncle or not" Sirius chuckled a little at this. He loosened his grip around the young girl as she walked to Dumbledore's office.

"Sit with us at lunch!" Sirius shouted to her. She smiled back as she ascended the stairs to Dumbledore's office and he knew that Hermione would. Even if nothing romantic was going on between the two, Sirius knew she was his friend and for now, he could cope with that.

"Good afternoon Miss Granger. How can I help you?" Dumbledore asked.

"Peter is on his way to giving Lily and James in. He's started hanging out with the group of Death Eaters in Slytherin. He's going to kill them and I've done nothing to stop him." She cried out, tears threatening to spill.
