"Now I'm running away from the truth I fear"Semmy Carson
"River! Stop that" I yelled loud whilst laughing and running away from the dork that I called my best friend.
"Not before you apologize for calling me a stupid sports jock!" He ran right after me and was about to make me in.
"Never!" I laughed loud and picked up my pace so he wouldn't catch me.
I was running across the school football field like a little child by now. We were about to go home, but he grinned when I told him that I was tired and called me lazy! So I said that he was just a stupid sports jock, because nobody deserved to have these long school days.
"Gotcha!" He laughed when he caught me and had his muscled arms wrapped around my waist so I couldn't run away from him anymore.
I tried to get away and wring myself out of his tight grip even though the both of us knew that it was no use to even try.
Competing against River Allen, the captain of the football team, was impossible. Of course he was stronger, faster and more fit than I ever was and ever would be.
We eventually ended up on the ground due to my exaggerating moving and spasms.
Don't blame me, I tried to get away from him even though I literally have zero strength. It takes way too much energy and I need to save that for eating and sleeping, duh.
River was the most athletic, hottest and popular guy ever existing on this earth. He had all the girls on their knees for him and most boys were extremely jealous of him.
He was tall and muscled. His brown messy hair shone into the sunlight while his piercing grey eyes got you pinned down to the ground. You could put him besides Justin Bieber and River would still look like the most beautiful boy ever.
"Now apologize!" The boy playfully smirked at me when he got me pinned to the ground.
The bastard was enjoying this.
"Or what?!" I challenged him.
His perfectly sculpted face, changed into a wicked grin and that made me gulp in fear. I saw his face coming closer and closer to mine as if he was about to kiss me. I would lie if I said that I didn't feel a little bit excited right there.
"Tickle death.." He whispered low into my ear, creating goosebumps over my body.
"You wouldn't dare!" I gasped while my eyes widened.
He took that as his cue and started tickling me which made me burst out in a fit of giggles. I wiggled and tried to get away from his hold on me, I was a sucker when it came to tickles.
Dang it, why did he have to be so damn strong.
"O-okay okay! S-sorry, now s-stop!" I screamed out loud and gave in.
I wouldn't have won anyways.
Satisfied he got off of me with this huge smirk that I wanted to slap off of his face right then and there.
"Don't smirk like that idiot!" I huffed offended as he helped me to get up.
"Oh I know you like it" He cheekily winked at me and I tried my best not to blush at that.
Stupid red cheeks!
"Let's go buddy, I'll drop you off at home" He smiled warmly at me then, before we walked towards his car.
This was our ritual. We always went to school and home together. Sometimes he even stayed at my place or I slept at his. Most of the time we spend our time together and did everything together, just the two of us and I liked that a lot.
I was surprised that River became my best friend and still till today he was my best friend.
Come on, I was Semmy Carson: the unpopular gay school nerd, outsider, idiot or whatever you want to call me.Most people just laughed at me, pestered or bullied me even though River never knew about me getting bullied and the beating. River was always supportive of me being gay though. I was surprised how well he reacted at my coming out. I thought he wouldn't want to be friends with me anymore.
Nobody really tried for me and I really did try to get some friends other besides River, but every time I did that, it ended up with all of them laughing behind my back or another painful beating for me being gay.
So who would want to be my friend?Exactly, no one.
River was my one and only friend ever since elementary school. Once he got popular in high school, all of the 'friends' and 'girlfriends' he had, tried to take him away from me. They were all surprised that he was my best friend. Literally, they always ask him why he's hanging out with me and I was honestly thankful that River always defended and protected me against them like he actually cared for me.
It was always a huge question to me as to why he still kept me in his life and why he would defend me. Weren't people usually doing anything for popularity?
I guess River wasn't like that at all. He didn't really seem to notice that he was popular and had so much power over everyone here. Sure, he went to parties and had a lot of girlfriends. Even right now he's dating the school bitch Lucy Ryan yet River always sticks up with me and wasn't ever mean against people.
Now you'd normally think that I'd be happy with him being my best friend especially since I was a huge nerd.
I mean, everyone would want to be his friend if they were in my position. But I wasn't exactly happy with it and you wanna know why?
Because I have a crush,
A crush on my best friend.
My straight best friend.
A/N: hi! I finally started updating this book! I'm very ill since yesterday, but please let me know what your first thoughts of this book are?
