There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind this year.

Happy new year! I hope we will stay healthy, achieve our dreams and make more memories together! Time for a new start!

"This is gonna be our first New Year's Eve together as a couple River!" I smiled and beamed up, feeling the excitement run through me like electric.

This year was the first time that we could celebrate the ending as best friends and boyfriends. We planned on going to a light-festival together this year.

A dream I never thought would actually come true.

So to say that I was excited, was an understatement. I was more than that and I wanted River to stay close to me for ever. I hope River felt the same way.

"Yes! Crazy right? I look forward to it!" He kissed my cheek, showing the brightest smile I have ever seen.

He grabbed me by my waist to pull me in his strong arms, letting the warmth seep through my veins while only feeling stronger from it. I lifted my head to connect our eyes with one another, letting myself completely sink in the gray orbs that reminded me of those snow covered mountains and the softest cloud hanging in our happiest skies.

A smile appeared on his face, melting me right on the spot for him. I'd do everything to see that special smile. For some reason it was so effective, that not only my heart did jump flips, but our entire surroundings faded away in the background.

He held my heart and souls in his hands. We got that love that nobody else had, from teasing and calling each other weird names to cuddling and kissing the entire night. It was crazy and insane, but good and loving at the same time.

In the end, it was him and I.

"Man.. You always know how to make me speechless whenever I look into your big green eyes.." He murmured in a daze, cupping my face and kissing my lips.

Our lips slowly moved against each other as if they already knew the rhythm of our love song.

My heart screamed for more, only pushing me closer to River. I felt how my skin turned into a crossfire as the tingles followed right after. There was this sudden change inside of me. From love to lust, but I let go of my desire for more..

I could taste the slight mint in River's mouth as our tongue fought together. The smile of River was to be felt against my lips.

He broke the soft kiss whilst his light eyes looked deep into mine.

"I love you, and only you Semmy Carson. You hear me?" He spoke with all the possible determination in his voice.

I never heard him speak in such a confident way and that made me feel weak in the knees.

"I love you too River Allen, more than any thing in this world.." I smiled and hugged him, never wanting to let go of this boy anymore.

"Shall we make ourselves ready for tonight?" River winked, kissing my lips.

"We shall, sports jock" I winked, immediately running upstairs when I saw his face.

This place was beautifully gorgeous.

The festival was located in a forest, a big table was set in the middle filled with drinks and snacks. A lot of people were already standing here, talking with each other or walking around the entire forest to see more of the lights. Slow songs were coming off of the speakers.

Every single light had its own shape and shade of color; illuminating this place and giving a certain atmosphere. It started to get dark outside, but each and every light gave off a brightness. It showed us the bright side off the darkness, making us able to see our surroundings even though it was getting dark.

I turned my head towards River, loving how a red light rested on his face and making him shine under the lights. Our fingers were touching and a smile crept on my lips when he intertwined our hands with each other.

We started to walk inside the forest, following the path of the lights and taking in our surroundings.

"This is so beautiful River.." I spoke up, smiling.

"I've never seen something like this.. I love it" He murmured, stopping under a mix of blue and green heartshaped lights.

He pulled me in his arms, caressing my back as he swayed me soft.

"I'm happy we chose this festival tonight!" I told him.

"Me too.. I didn't mind where we would go to. But this is so cool!" He laughed soft, looking like a little kid.

I grabbed my phone and snapped a quick picture of him. My eyes widened when he grabbed my phone and also took pictures of me and of us together for a while. He kept laughing and kissing my cheek, talking with me about random things.

"Hee baby, I'm gonna grab some drinks for us okay? I'll be right back!" He winked, walking away from me.

"Don't stay away for too long!" I called after him, noticing it was already 23:49 P.M.

I looked around and got surprised when I saw Jax and Everest, walking hand in hand. I called them over as I smiled.

"Oh my! Are you two official?!" I squealed, high key shipping the two boys who once flirted with me.

"Hi Semmy! Yes we are!" Jax hugged me and started blushing when Everest kissed his cheek.

"Aweeee! I'm so happy for you two!" I nodded, genuinely feeling good from seeing them like this.

"Where is River?" Everest asked, looking around.

"He would grab some drinks.." I rubbed my arm worried. "I don't know what takes him so long.."

"Weird.. It's almost time!" Everest said, pulling Jax close to him.

"Don't worry Sem!" Jax said when he noticed my face. "I bet he will come in time.." He bit his lip and looked around.

That was the moment that people started to count and my heart dropped into my chest.

My eyes scanned fastly around the place, the lights taking over my sight.

There was no sight of the beautiful brown haired, gray eyed boy that I searched for.

1...

Two strong arms wrapped around my waist, turning me around into a familiar strong chest as he placed his soft lips on mine.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

All the fireworks, screams and cheers around us were on the background. In this special moment I was more focused on River and how his soft lips moved on mine like puzzle pieces.

"Happy new year baby boy.." River murmured in my ear as he broke the kiss, smiling at me.

"May we have many more years together.." I whispered, knowing I wanted him

I wanted him so much.
