Grant POV
He had known that Lisa would fail him. That much was obvious. But the mention of Mai? Unspeakable.
“So you failed to catch her?” He taunted.
“I’m sorry that such a thing happened, Grant.” She said, bowing her head in shame.
A smirk formed.
“Did you slack off?”
“No not at all!” she said, snapping her head back up.
“I guess I should’ve let someone else do it…” he said, standing and walking into the shadows.
A new Demmonan entered the courtyard. “Ha you got scolded!”
“Erin!” Lisa shouted.
“How dare you come back after such a failure!”
“Shut up! Someone like you couldn’t capture a Nephilium!” Lisa argued. Grant’s smile grew wider.
“There’s no way she could escape my powers! I’d even be able to do it without you, Lisa.” Erin scoffed.
“Very well then, Erin.” Grant said, remaining hidden in the shadows. “I’ll leave it up to you this time.”
“Grant please let me try again!” Lisa begged.
But he had already disappeared.
