Elizabeth's POV
I had been sewing the flaps together for the tent for at least four hours now, running the needle back and forth. Pricking my finger with every stitch. The tent had been put up a week ago, two days after I told everyone the plan. I was now attempting to finish the screens for back stage.
I had barely been out of the house since I began to sew, only leaving the apartment to get more fabric or thread. A threw out another roll of purple fabric, cutting out the next piece with the fabric scissors.
I pushed another pin into the fabric, to hold it together while I did the stich, when a big pair of arms wrapped around my shoulders, pulling me from my train of thought.
"Hey, You." Phillip greeted. He peered over my shoulder to see what I had been doing, seeing the myriads of fabric pieces sewn together. Phillip had been by a couple of times, keeping me company when Anne and W.D were busy. As well as coming by to see how the nightmares were going. They hadn't been too bad this week since he started to visit every day.
Up and over I muttered as I pushed the needle into the thread, pulling tight so it would stay together.
"Liz?" He questioned, waking me from the trance I had put myself in.
"Mhm?"
"I asked how long you have been doing this for?"
"Oh, I started around eight this morning." I replied causally, as it dawned on me that I didn't actually know the time.
"Lizzy, it is 1 in the afternoon. You need to get up and do something other than this." He playfully scolded, pulling me away from the chair. Letting the needle drop onto the floor with a small twang when it collided.
He pulled me close into his chest, placing a small kiss onto my lips before grabbing a both my own coat and his, dragging me out of the door.
"Where are we going?" I laughed as my hair fell out of the half bun I had actually tried to put it up in this morning. After the fire, it fell to just below my shoulders. Short but still long enough the put up.
"You will see." He grinned as we hoped into a carriage. "Part one of your surprise is to your left."
"Surprise? Should I be worried or excited?" I joked as I turned my head to look out the window.
And right there was everything I had planned. The most extraordinary tent you will ever see. Colours wrapped around each other before forming delicate swirls in the ground. I slowly got out of the carriage almost in a dream like state.
Phillip heled out his hand for me, taking me inside the tent to see everyone running over upcoming performance. Two days, then we wee back in action. Two days and the circus was back in town.
Everything was shiny and new, AND! there was an actual space for my tightrope. So I could use it everyday rather than waiting for everyone to go home in order to practise. I couldn't help myself, so I ran towards the trapeze and gave it a swing. Free falling before gracefully gliding through the air, dismounting perfectly.
"It is amazing!" I exclaimed as I pivoted around the room. The only thing missing was the fabric to cut off the front stage from back stage. "But I should really get back to sewing the curtains." I said quickly, facing Phillip.
"No. No. No." He said playfully stated. "They can wait." Phillip, once again, "dragged" me towards the carriage. The sound of the horses hooves banging against the ground, was evident and we sat in silence. Phillip watching me, trying to see if I knew where we were going.
I had no idea.
We were not in the city I could tell you that much. The lack of smog proved that. There seemed to be more greenery as we travelled further. The plants seemed to be growing brighter, the flowers becoming more vivid and colourful, providing an array of shades against the forest floor.
We pulled up outside a small brick cottage. One that had roses climbing up the side of the house. The garden was magnificent, almost as well kept as the one in England.
"Where are we?" I asked in amazement, as I slowly turned around. Trying to absorb everything in.
Phillip moved closer, locking his hand with mine. "This would be my new house and I was hoping you would share it with me?" He proposed as he faced me to explain everything in the house. There was two rooms, so we could each have our own, a dinning and living area, a kitchen, a bathroom and a spare room which we could make into a library.
He kept rambling, something he did when he was nervous, on about everything in the house. Everything wall, edge and corner.
I placed my lips onto his to stop him from talking, smiling into it as I nodded my head. He kissed me back for a few moments before double checking that he had got my response correct.
"You'll move in with me?" He questioned, repeating it to convince himself.
" A million times. Yes."
Short chapter I know but I have something planned for the next one, which should be out tomorrow night.
Hope you have a great day, night, week.
