Phillip's Pov

W.D's question rang through out the room, leaving us all in mute silence. Not even the slightest whisper or mouthing of a word. It was completely and utterly mute.  Small murmurs of the sleeping Elizabeth broke the barricade of silence as he eyes slowly flickered open at the sound of the knocking from downstairs.

"Phillip?" She questioned as she slowly got up, W.D and Anne standing behind her and were almost on the floor in a fit of laughter as she hadn't realized they were here yet.

"Always." I quoted back, causing a grin to appear on her lips. She raked a hand through her hair which had fallen out of whatever style it was before and turned to get out of the bed. Finally seeing Anne and W.D. The next thing was a definite blur, Lizzy had jumped off the bed and pulled the two into a warm embrace.

"H-How? W-when?" She stuttered as she finally let go of Anne and W.D, allowing them to breathe once more.

"Barnum arranged a carriage so we could come up here to see how Phillip and you were doing." She replied.

"Of course he did" Elizabeth laughed as her eyes bounced from Anne to W.D to myself continually.

Ailsa quickly came into the room, not bothering to knock to inform us that Miss Carlyle was here and requested an audience with myself and Elizabeth. I looked at Elizabeth wearily, trying to find any source of her not wanting to go within her face. But somehow she maintained her calmness, her sea green eyes not showing any evidence of reluctance.

"Anne and W.D, this is Miss Ailsa Matthews, Countess Adele's lady in waiting. Ailsa, this is Miss Anne Wheeler and Mr W.D Wheeler." Elizabeth gave a quick introduction before going over a whispering something into Ailsa's ear, probably asking her to stay and talk with W.D and Anne while we were with Hannah.

After Lizzy stepped away, Anne came up and properly introduced herself, shaking Ailsa's hand before standing beside me while W.D introduced himself. Somehow, his introduction took a far while longer than Anne's.

"You all good with this?" I asked quietly, making sure Anne was okay staying here while we were out.

"I'll be fine. But by the looks of it I may only be reading Lizzy's book while these two are talking." She joked, gesturing over to W.D and Ailsa subtly. The two were talking as if they had known each other for years but something else was there as well, and I am positive that it was what Anne was implying.

Lizzy and I left the room and made our way to the sitting room downstairs where Ailsa had said Hannah was. I edged my own  hand toward hers ever so slightly when we stood in front of the doors to the sitting room. When Lizzy felt the brush of my fingertips against her hand , she unfurled her fingers and let mine slip around hers until she could feel the heat of my palm pressed against her own.

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Lizzy give the smallest nod as she pushed the door opened to revel a large room filled with bookcases and several sofas as well as a fire which was slowly dying in the corner of the room. I could almost hear the disappointment off Lizzy as she wanted to run to the book case and look at every single book.  But instead she kept her composure and walked elegantly towards the figure hidden in the shadows.

The figure slowly stepped out into the light, revelling my sister. But at the same time, revealing a girl who I didn't know. Her long dark hair had been chopped off and despite framing her face, was still jaggered around the edges. Her dress was the most simplistic I had ever seen her in, a plain pale straw dress with long sleeves, and a hem which was covered 6 inches deep in mud.

"I know I have a lot of explaining to do." Her voice was shaky and unsteady as she toyed with a piece of twine which was wrapped around her finger.

Hannah sat down, across from us and almost completely dissolved into tears. Unable to form any word other than Griffin.

Lizzy reached out and placed her hand on top of Hannah's before uttering the words I know.

Hannah's head jerked up immediately, her crying had caused her face to become puffy and read and she asked for Lizzy to repeat herself.

"I know, that Lillia Griffin has been threating you. Threating to tell you're parents about..." She began before I interrupted.

"Theodore Gillis" I concluded, everything finally making sense. It was one of those feelings where everything finally became clear, all the puzzle pieces had fallen together. "That's why you did everything, the letters, the wedding. Everything."

Hannah took an unsteady breath, pushing a few strands of her hair out of her face. "Yes. I take full responsibility  for the letters but Lillia had given the impression to myself and mother and father that Elizabeth was only interested because of your money." She began to explain, looking down at her twine ring while he twisted it. "But after doing further investigation, I discovered I was wrong and I tried to remove myself from it. But, um, then Lillia told me if I didn't continue to do this, she would inform my parents about Theo."

"And if they did, they would of disgraced and disowned you." Unlike me, Hannah had no previous money. I could keep what I had made from the plays but she was still continuing with her education and was unable to break away from the life without living on the streets.

Hannah nodded as she pulled her hair to one side, something she did when she was nervous and had been doing since she was young.

Lizzy, having previously removing her hand from Hannah's, placed her hand once again onto Hannah's and spoke slowly and gently. "Okay, so this is what is going to happen. You can come stay with us and Theodore is more than welcome. You can stay for as you need to get up onto your feet."

"Are you sure?" She asked through her still shaken breathe, looking at me for conformation.

"Of course." I reply. I couldn't throw my sister out onto the streets and regardless of the things she has done, she is still my sister and she deserves happiness like I have found. She smiled and quickly pulled Lizzy and I into a hug, thanking us both.

When Hannah stood up again, she quickly dusted off the front of her dress and untucked then re-tucked a piece of hair behind her ears.

"There something else" She admitted, looking at myself and Lizzy straight in the eyes before continuing.

"Lillia planning something. Something big. "

Hey guys, I hope you don't mind but I am going to put a random question in at the end of each chapter, just so I can get to know you guys a bit better. My Q&A is slowly coming together so if anybody has any questions they would like me to answer, please let me know.

Random question of the day?

*What, currently, your favourite Tv show?

Also, I was thinking and you know how certain fandoms have certain nicknames, like people who are apart of the Harry Potter fandom are Potterhead, and those who are apart of the Star wars fandom are rebels, and Percy Jackson are demigods, what is the name for the Greatest showman fandom? I was thinking maybe we could go with oddities? Let me know what you think

Please vote and comment.

Hope you all have a great day/night!
