Liam’s POV

“Nicole I - ” I pause as she looks across at me

“What’s up?” she says looking up through her eyelashes

“I – I think we should go downstairs” I sigh. It’s too soon to tell her, I’ll give her some time to heal

“oh ok”

Nicole’s POV

“oh ok” I actually thought he was going to say something. I smile, jump up and grab Liam’s hand

“come on then” I say pulling him out of my room and downstairs. We go into the living room and find the boys watching TV. Me and Liam plonk down next to Zayn on the sofa.

“Nicole I’m so sorry I never should’ve brought it up.” Zayn says

“it’s fine, I’m fine” I give him a small smile trying to hide my pain

“I’m not an idiot Nicole” he says seeing through me

“really, I’m fine. Liam cheered me up” I say smiling at Liam. Liam hugs me into his side, Zayn acts upset

“Aww Lili I thought we had something special” Zayn says pouting, I chuckle

“NO LIAM’S MINE!” Niall shouts

“who said?” Zayn shouts back

“I did” Niall pouts

“boys, boys I love you all equally” Liam says, trying to stop the ‘fight’

“fine” they both say in unison pouting like babies. Aww their bromances are so cute.

“But I love you a little more” Liam whispers in my ear. I feel blood rush into my cheeks and

butterflies fill my stomach, I smile.

“thanks babe” I lean over and whisper in his ear. The corners of his mouth turn up a little

“What are you two lovebirds talking about?” Louis says from across the room

My head whips around “WHAT?” we both say looking at Louis with bug eyes.

“Gees. Can’t you guys take a joke? As if you two would date, you’ve been friends since forever” Louis says. We both relax. Damn it Lou, wait to make it awkward.

“What makes you think we wouldn’t date?” Liam asks

“Cause you guys are really close and you wouldn’t want to ruin your friendship”

“that’s what you think” Liam mumbles, not loud enough for Louis to hear. Wait, why was he getting so defensive? I knew he would never date me. I mean come on? Me? He only ever thinks of me as a friend, I know that.

Liam’s POV

Maybe Louis was right. Maybe I shouldn’t tell Nicole how I feel. If she didn’t like me back then our whole friendship would be gone. I don’t know what I would do if I lost her. GAHH. This is so frustrating. There’s no chance in hell that Nicole could ever like me. She is so beautiful and she could have any person she liked. Why would she choose me?

Nicole’s POV

I glance over at Harry he’s been very quiet. He is sitting on the floor leaning against a sofa. He seems to be typing away on his phone, smiling and blushing. I sneak up behind him to see what he is doing. He’s texting someone.

“Watcha doin?” I ask

He jumps a little from the shock “nothing” he says locking his phone
