Chapter 29

Nicole’s POV

Harry is kissing me. Harry is kissing me. It took a second for it to sink in before I realised Harry was kissing me. I bring my hands up to his chest and push him off me. He breaks away and smiles

“Nicole?” shit. That was Liam’s voice. I turn my head to the door and see Liam standing there with tears in his eyes.

Liam’s POV

I was getting worried about Nicole. How long could it take to get a drink? I got up and headed towards the kitchen. When I walked in I did not expect to see Harry and Nicole kissing. I swear I could feel my heart shatter into a million pieces. I knew this would happen someday. I knew she would find someone better than me. I just didn’t expect it to be one of my best friends.  Nicole pushes him away before I could find my voice. I felt tears welling up in my eyes.

“Nicole?” I say hurt

She turns to me “Liam……I-”

I cut her off “save it” I say anger boiling up inside me

I turned around and ran straight out the door. Out the door of the apartment and out the gates of the complex. I had to get away. Get away from her and find my thoughts. Running always helped me find my thoughts. It was my escape.

Nicole’s POV

Liam ran out and I felt tears well up in my eyes. I turn to Harry and don’t hesitate to slap him.

“don’t talk to me EVER again” I say and run out of the room. I go into the living room and look around for Liam. He isn’t here. I see Katrina with a confused look on her face. I feel I tear roll down my face as I go to her and hug her.

“I’m so sorry” I whisper and let her go. She gets even more confused but I have to find Liam. I run out towards the door of the apartment. I am about to go out when Louis stops me.

“let me go Louis” I say through my teeth

“What happened Nicole?”

“I have to find Liam” I say tears streaming down my face

“not like that you aren’t”

“LOUIS LET ME GO!” I shout getting impatient, I’m wasting time.

“tell me what happened”

Anger boiled up in me “YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENED? HARRY FUCKING KISSED ME! He kissed me ok? Now let me go” I push me way out of his arms and walk out the door.

I run out of the gates of the complex. Liam always runs when he’s upset. I just had to find him. Find him and explain. I look to the right and I can see his figure at the end of the street. I start running, tears blurring my vision, trying to catch up to him. My heels were killing me, so I kicked them off in frustration and kept running. He stopped at the corner, I was getting closer

“LIAM!” I shout out making him turn around. When he saw me he turned and started running across the street as I was getting closer.

“LIAM WAIT” I shout

Before I could process anything a car came out of nowhere.

It crashes into Liam’s side and he rolled over the top and onto the road. I could hear myself screaming but I couldn’t find my voice. I ran up to him. I cradled him in my arms, my tears blurring my vision.

“Liam, Liam stay with me” I say looking into his eyes

“Nicole I-” he says

I bring my hand up and caress his cheek “shh, you’re gonna be ok, you’re gonna be ok” my tears falling freely

“it hurts Nicole” he winces

“just look at me, stay with me please. Just stay awake” I beg.

I pull out my phone and dial 999. I tell them about the accident and where we are. All the while I keep my eyes locked on Liam, tears streaming down my face. I hang up and cradle him closer to me, not caring about the blood.

“Nicole, I wanna go to sleep” Liam whimpers

More tears stream down my face “just wait a little long Lili, wait until the doctors come and fix you up. Just please stay. For me” I say through tears

“you promise to stay with me?” he asks

“I promise, I will always be there” I say kissing him softly on the lips. When I pull back I see his eyes flutter shut

I break down “NO! Liam you promised please stay awake please” I beg clutching him to my chest. I hear the sirens and see the flashing lights. The ambulance pulls up and paramedics rush outs. I kiss him on the forehead and hand him over. They put him on the stretcher and rush him into the van. I hop in the back with him. I entwine our fingers keeping them locked the whole way to the hospital.

When we arrive they rush him into the emergency room and into a surgery room where they can fix him up. I wait outside the room nervously. Crying my eyes out, not caring that my dress is covered in blood and that I am not wearing shoes. I am only praying that Liam is ok.

I text Niall and tell him what happened. Niall, Zayn and Louis rush to the hospital. Harry and Kat decided to stay back. They had some issues they had to sort out. When they saw me waiting outside, Niall was the first one to engulf me in a hug. I hugged him tight and cried into his shoulder. Be comforted me and I let my emotions out.
