Chapter 50

Nicole's POV

As we make our way down the street I keep an extra careful eye on Liam. After some time I realise we are heading to the park. The same park me and Liam went to after the public found out about us. He keeps smiling weirdly at me.
"Liam is there something you want to tell me?" I ask, squinting my eyes suspiciously
He just grins at me "Nope"
I sigh, deciding he isn't going to tell me any time soon.

We arrive at the park and head straight for the swings. We swing for a while and I'm still getting the vibe that Liam is hiding something from me. I get up from my swing and go over to his. I sit on his lap, wrapping my arms around his neck to balance myself. He starts swinging us gently back and forth.
"Liam, you know you can tell me anything right?" I say
He looks up into my eyes and smiles "Course babe"
"Then why are you lying to me?" I pout. He full well knows I hate secrets
He rubs my back soothingly "I'm not lying, you'll find out soon enough"
"Can't you just tell me now?" I say as I start to trail kisses up Liam's neck to his jaw in an attempt to sway him
"Nice try Nicole, you can't sway me with your beautiful lips this time" Liam chuckles, although his arms tighten around my waist
I smirk against his skin "Are you sure?"
I lean up to kiss him, Liam stops our gentle swinging and pulls me even closer to him. I smile against his lips and start to run my fingers through his hair. The world seems to fade away, and it's only me and him. Liam never fails to make me feel as if I'm the only girl in the world. He makes me feel special.

Liam pulls away and smiles up at me "Alright, you wore me down"
I grin triumphantly up at him "Really?"
"Yeah" he leans down to peck me on the lips one last time "Come on, I want to show you something"
We both stand up from the swing, and I straighten up my clothes. When I look up, I see that Liam has already started walking to wherever he wants to take me. I follow him, walking a little faster to catch up. I had almost caught up when I see something fall out of Liam's pocket.
I bend down to pick it up for him "Liam - " I stop myself once I realise what I'm holding in my hand, a ring box. My hands start to shake slightly and I look up at Liam, my eyes glazed over with tears "Liam, is this....?" I can't finish my sentence I'm so shocked.
Liam has a similiar surprised look on his face. He bends down and gently takes the box from my hand, placing it on the ground between us. He places a gentle finger under my chin, lifting my head up to look into his eyes.

"Nicole, this is not how I planned to do this but I don't care" Liam grabs both my hands in his. My heart is beaitng a million miles an hour. I take a shakey breath before he cointinues to talk. "Nicole, we have been best friends for as long as I can remember. I don't know when and I don't know how, but I slowly started to fall in love with you. And I am so glad that I did. It's always been you Nicole, you are the one for me. I don't see myself with anyone else." he pauses to grab the box of the floor. Liam opens it to reveal the most gorgeous ring that I have ever seen. "So, Nicole Rose Tomlinson, will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?"

I smile up at Liam, through my tears. "Of course I'll marry you, you idiot" I laugh out before pulling him into a hug. He pulls me tight into him and lies me down on the grass.
He starts to kiss away my tears "I love you so much" he says
"i love you too Liam" I smile pulling him down for a quick kiss.
He quickly pulls me up so that we're both sitting up, and takes the ring out of the box slipping it onto my finger.
I look up into Liam's eyes and I feel a warmth swelling in my heart. I am looking at my future husband.
