Nicole’s POV
Me and Liam have been walking for a while so we decided to sit down. We find a nice shady tree to sit under. Liam puts his arm around my shoulders and I lean into his side.
I sigh “This is nice”
“Yeah this is nice” he replies
“You know what?”
“What?”
“I thought you wouldn’t like me” I confess
“How could I not like you Nicole? You’re funny, smart, kind, and beautiful. You’re my best friend and you always have the right thing to say. Who wouldn’t like that?
“You”
He laughs at my response “Nicole, to be honest I thought you wouldn’t like me”
“Really? But you’re you” I say matter-of-factly
“Exactly”
“Don’t you exactly me mister. You’re funny, smart, cute and hot” You’re MY best friend too you know. You have always been there for me. How could I not like you?”
“You’re the best Nicole”
“No you are” I smile
I look up into his eyes. We are both grinning like idiots but we don’t care. We both lean in closer to each other and our lips touch. I wrap my arms around his neck, pulling him closer to me.
“LIAM!” I hear Louis shout
We pull away to see Louis marching towards us. He looks mad.
“Louis, mate” Liam says walking up to him
“You stay away from her you hear me?” he practically screams. What has gotten into him?
“Louis you need to calm down” I say putting my hand on his shoulder
He turns around “Stay out of this Nicole”
“I will not stay out of this. It’s my love life, I can date whoever I want to”
“YEAH? How did that work out the last time” he spits at me. I have never seen him this mad
“It’s different this time. This is Liam. LIAM. One of your best mates. My best friend. He’s not gonna hurt me Louis”
Louis’ expression softens a little “How do you know Nicole?” he says softly
“You know I never would” Liam replies coming up next to me, wrapping his arm around my waist
Louis is fuming again “DID I ASK YOU?” he shouts stepping closer
“Louis you’re scaring me” I whimper into Liam’s side
“Louis, mate just take deep breaths” Liam says stepping slightly in front of me
Just then Louis snaps. “DON’T TOUCH HER!” he yells as his fist connects with Liam’s face. He staggers back a step then falls to the ground in pain.
“LIAM!” I say falling to the ground next to him “are you okay?” I ask my hand softly cupping his cheek
I look up at Louis “look what you did” I say “why would you do that?”
He is staring at Liam with worry, finally snapping out of his anger “oh my God Liam I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to…” he says reaching towards us
I push him away “I think you’ve done enough”
With that, I help Liam stand up and we make our way towards the rest of our group, leaving Louis behind us.
