Chapter 15

Nicole’s POV

He likes me. Me. He called me beautiful and told me he likes me. I have to tell him I like him back

“Nicole?” he asks anxious

I open my mouth, but no words come out. What is wrong with me? Nicole, say something. I like you. See? It’s not that hard. I stood there frozen. It’s like my body had gone into lock down.

“Nicole it’s ok if you don’t like me. I will completely understand” he says, his face falling in disappointment. But I do like him. I open my mouth, again, no words. He looks up at me, I can see hurt in his eyes. I hate to see him so hurt over me. Before I knew what I was doing I closed the distance between us, wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed my lips to his. His lips were soft and butterflies filled my stomach as I realised I was kissing him. It was short, but it managed to leave me breathless.

I pull away from the kiss looking into his eyes “I like you too Liam, more than you’ll ever know”

He smiles “really?”

“really” I smile

“In that case, Nicole Rose Tomlinson will you go out with me?”

“Yes” I smile widely at him

I can’t believe this is happening, my best friend

“Well come on then” he says lacing our fingers together, tingles shoot up my arm “we don’t want to keep the others waiting”

Liam pulls me towards the door, I grab my bag on the way out and lock the door behind me. We slide back into the car. Everyone is looking at me with worried expressions on their faces

I smile widely at them “What are guys looking at?” I question

“Nicole, you don’t have to act happy”

 Louis says

“I’m not acting” I reply, squeezing Liam’s hand smiling at him

“Don’t lie to me Nicole” Louis retorts, clearly not convinced

“I’m not lying” I repeat, smiling wider

“Nicole look at me” I hear Kat say from the back seat.

I sigh and let go of Liam’s hand. I turn my body fully around to face Kat and look straight into her eyes, she leans forward concentrating very hard

“I……am not……lying” I say very clearly, keeping eye contact with Kat the whole time.

She leans back and holds her hands up in defeat “She’s not lying”

Satisfied, I turn back around, put my seat belt on and took hold of Liam’s hand once again, feeling a bit more relaxed to have him there. Everyone was still staring

“Well what are you waiting for?” I practically yelled at Louis

‘Well someone’s eager” he retorts sitting back in the driver’s seat and starting up the van

Liam’s POV

*rewind to the part before they went into the car*

“Yes” she smiles widely at me. Warmth fills my heart. She actually said yes.

“Well come on then” I pause to grab her hand, lacing our fingers together. They fit perfectly, it feels right to have her hand in mine “we don’t want to keep the others waiting”

I tug her towards the door and into the car, keeping our hands entwined. Everyone stares at her, with worried expressions on their faces. She smiles, her smile could light up the whole world it’s so beautiful “What are you guys looking at?” she asks.

They are obviously worried about the whole ‘incident’ that just happened before

“Nicole, you don’t have to act happy” Louis replies, his voice full of worry

“I’m not acting” she says, squeezing my hand and shooting me a dazzling smile. Butterflies fill my stomach, she was genuinely happy to be with me. While Nicole tries to prove she isn’t lying, I turn to Niall who is sitting on the other side of me. He raises an eyebrow

“I told her” I mouth to him, he smiles widely at me

“I told you” he mouths back

Just then Nicole’s hand slips from mine as she turns around to face Katrina. I frown, it didn’t feel right without her hand in mine.

“I……am not……lying” she says clearly, I chuckle to myself she is so adorable

Katrina sits back in defeat “She’s not lying”

I smile as she sits back in her seat and laces our fingers together once again. I settle back in my seat, finding comfort in having her hand in mine.

“Well what are you waiting for?” she asks Louis, clearly annoyed

“well someone’s eager” he says starting up the car.
