Chapter 3

Nicole's POV

*BEEP BEEP BEEP* I am woken up by the annoying sound of my alarm clock. I groan and slam my hand on the alarm shutting it off. I lay there for about a minute, then heave myself up out of bed. I grab my towel and walk into the bathroom. I take a hot shower for about five minutes. After the shower I brush my teeth and walk back to my room wrapped in my towel. I put my clothes on and put my semi-wet hair into a side braid, not wanting it to friz. I look in the mirror, today I decided to wear black tights, my LOVE half jumper. http://www.polyvore.com/last_week_school/set?id=48320877 I go down stairs and make myself a cup of tea and two slices of toast. I was making my mum a cup of tea when she came into the kitchen.

"Good morning sweetie"

"Morning mum" I say handing her the cup of tea. I sit down and start eating my toast.

"So how are the boys?" she asks

"Oh you know same old, same old"

She laughs and takes a sip of her tea. We sit in silence finishing our breakfast, it's been quiet around here since dad left but I don't mind.

"well I'm off to work" mum said grabbing her keys

"kay love you mum"

"love you too" she says and walks out the door. I hear her car start and drive away.

I finish my tea and gather my things for school. I pull on my purple knee high boots and head towards the garage. I get in my car and drive to school.

I arrive at school at quarter to 8. I head towards the senior locker room and go to my locker. I put all the books in my bag and replace them with the books for my morning classes. Just as I close my locker I feel someone hug me from behind. I drop my bag on the floor.

"Hey babe" Daniel says from behind me.

"Hey" I turn around in his arms so that I am facing him and wrap my arms around his neck. He leans down, I stretch up on my toes and our lips touch. He kisses me gently at first, then it becomes more passionate. Daniel pushes me up against the lockers, his hands around my waist and I run my fingers through his hair and pull him closer to me.

*cough cough*

I turn my head to the side and I see Katrina standing behind Daniel, smirking. I blush and Daniel turns around to see who it is. We both straighten up.

"Well good morning to you too" Katrina smiles

"Hey Kat -" I walk up and give her a hug "sorry you had to that" I say into her ear

"That's fine"

"Hey Katrina" Daniel says from behind me

"Hey Danny -" she smiles "your secret is safe with me" she winks at him. He looks at the ground.

I grab his hand "come on let's get to class" not wanting it to get any awkwarder. Kat, Daniel and I walk to homeroom.

Classes were a blur. It's the last week of school so we didn't really learn anything new. In math (the last class of the day) we had free time so Kat and I decided to talk.

"So what's up with you and Daniel?" Kat questions

"Nothin much, what makes you ask that?"

"You two looked pretty serious this morning" she smiles

I blush looking down at the floor "Whatever. We've been dating for a year now ...."

"Just be careful kay Nicole?"

"What?"

"you know ...." She says winking at me

"Oh. We are not THAT serious" I laugh

"Just be careful" she repeats

Before I could ask what she meant the bell rings.

"See ya tomorrow Nicole" she smiles and pulls me into a hug

"See ya Kat"

I walk to my car and drive back home, still thinking about the conversation I had with Katrina. I parked in the garage and went inside turning on lights as I went. I hear something crash in the living room.

"Mum?" I yell

No answer.

I grab a pan from the kitchen and slowly make my way to the living room

"Who's there?" I yell into the darkness

The lights flicker on.
