really really trying

i needed a break.

my aunt and uncle were really trying. like, really really trying, and I appreciated it.

but they seemed to be hiding more than just their alcohol.

their side glances at each other, their seemingly fake smiles; it was more than bothersome. it was straight up annoying.

so I told them I was going out, to check out the park down the street. they told me to be careful, since it was after all extremely late at night. I knew what they were going to do while I was gone. it was disheartening to me, really.

i ended up not checking out the park down the street, with me honestly being too glum to walk that far. not thinking much of it, I settled for stargazing on a neighbor's porch. I didn't know in the slightest who the owners were, or if they were still up and were going to charge me for trespassing, but I took the risk for the sake of my mental condition.

my mental condition.

oh how i wished things could go back to the way they were.
