Jc's POV

Though it had only been a few months since the guys and I released the news that we would be going on a US tour, it had felt like a lifetime ago before we headed to Hawaii for our first show. Now that we were here it still seemed surreal. I almost felt as if I was another person watching my life play out before me, there was no way that I could have truly been so lucky as to have this moment in my lifetime. The feeling of being on stage with the guys was unreal, I couldn't see myself standing next to anyone else. But for a moment as we stood looking out into the crowd I couldn't help but wish to see one face in particular. I looked back to Lia standing off stage next to Shelby. I was glad the two were hitting it off and that Lia was willing to take this adventure with me. But I couldn't explain why at that moment my mind could only think of Skylar. I stood looking out into the crowd, hearing the roars of our fans and closed my eyes for a moment to take it all in. However in that moment all I could see when I closed my eyes was Skylar's face staring back at me. I felt guilty in a way that I was standing here in a crowded room at our first show with a wonderful, beautiful girl standing behind me and all I could think of was my first love. Perhaps I had given up too soon, moved on too quickly. Though I knew that Skylar would always live in my heart, my head felt that had to move on and see where this road with Lia would lead.

"You did great!" Lia cheered pulling me into a tight embrace as we exited the arena.

"Thanks! It was definitely incredible, something I'll never forget!" I laughed as we jumped into the cab that was to take us back to the hotel.

"I can't believe that I was there to witness this magical evening! I think my ears are still ringing!" she shouted louder than necessary.

"What do you have in mind for this evening, miss Johnson?" I said softly wrapping my arm around her shoulder.

"Just wanna hit the beach, room service pizza, and sleep" Lia spoke without looking up from her phone.

"Let's just hit the beach now!" I said as the cab driver pulled over for a moment, as I paid and we jumped out on the sidewalk only a couple feet from the beach.

"This has been such a crazy trip," Lia said plopping down on the sand farther back from the ocean away from the crowds.

"Yeah definitely one to remember," I laid back closing my eyes for a moment.

"Jc?" Lia said tapping her finger on my bicep.

"Yeah?" I said without opening my eyes.

"I want to ask you something, and you don't have to answer if you don't want to ok?"

"Ok," I said squinting open one eye just enough to see her serious expression.

"I know everything that happened with Skylar. I know that she came here as part of the witness protection program, left for court, came back to be with you. You guys were really serious. There for a while there were rumors that you would outlast Kiandrea and even Shiza. I understand that she just up and left but nobody will tell me why, so I guess my question is why?" she spoke in a serious voice that I had never heard her use before.

"Well," I croaked out as my mind raced, "Honestly I don't even know the whole truth. I just know she left and though she claims she had to go, I know deep down she had some sort of choice. She pretty much she up and left without much reason."

"Ok," she paused for a moment, "Do you ever think she'll come back?"

"Maybe, maybe not." I said sitting up and looking into her eyes, I knew where this was headed.

"What happens if she comes back?" Lia said looking off into the distance.

"Lia, I don't know." I said looking down, I didn't want to see her face in fear that my honest answers were hurting her.

"Jc, do you love her?"

"Honestly there is always going to be a part of me that will love her. She was my first love and something like that doesn't go away. She'll always be in my heart." I paused looking up into her teary eyes. "However you have to keep in mind that her ass walked out and left me like it was nothing. It was her choice to hit the road without me. And I don't know about you but I like my girls loyal. Lia, she was the past and you are the present. I'm here with you and I asked you to come because you are my present. And hopefully my future. I don't know where my path is going to lead anymore but I hope you'll walk it with me."

"Jc...." Lia stopped speechless. I watched as she wiped her eyes and ran her hand through her hair before she spoke again. "I don't want to be the home wrecker that destroys something special, not only for you but for her too."

"Dude, she left me she's the one who destroyed what we had as far as I'm concerned!"

"What are we?" Lia yelled back.

"We're...." I paused looking into her eyes once more. Shit, I didn't know what we were, and I didn't know what Skylar and I were but I knew I had to do something about my aching heart. Lia's brown eyes began to tear up again as if she was assuming that I was going to say we were nothing. "We're..." I said once more trying to buy myself time and think of the proper way to word my emotions. I thought of Skylar and how I loved her so but knew deep down it was close to impossible to see her again. I had to move on, I had to take this curve in my path and change things for the better. Mentally at that very moment I wiped my slate clear of thoughts of Skylar and my love for her. Filling it with thoughts of Lia and everything wonderful about her, before pulling her into an intense kiss. Her lips warm and soft felt like home to me, I couldn't escape the feeling of passion I felt while pushing my lips against hers. I pulled away smiling like a fool, relived to see a wider smile on her face.

"We're?" she said as she pulled farther away.

"Jia." I laughed pulling her back into another liplock.
