Jc's POV
It had been two months since I came home to an empty bedroom, yet I left the handwritten note on my nightstand, reading it every morning. Part of me wanted to believe that this was all a dream, that I was in a coma, I'd wake up soon. And part of me knew it was too good to be true from the very beginning. Yet still every morning, first thing, I'd pick up the note and reread it. Though it was burned into my memory, my eyes still followed the inked words, tracing every curve of the letters. She was gone, yes, but she had yet to leave my heart.
I heard screams coming from the living room, Kian and Ricky had been playing Mario Kart for almost twenty hours straight. I got up, throwing on a tee shirt before heading out to see which one of them was in the lead. It wasn't until I rounded the corner that I realized they were not alone. I stood slightly uncomfortable in the crowded living room, boxers and tee shirt only.
"Hey there sleepy head!" Jenn shouted without looking away from the TV screen. "We were wondering when you would grace us with your presence!"
"Ummm Jc," Rebecca said laughing, "Did you forget your pants this morning!"
"No, these are my pants! I'm going for a new look," I laughed, attempting to smooth down my bedhead before heading to the fridge. "Who drank my last Arizona?" I screamed over the room, turning just in time to see Sam taking a huge gulp from the can.
"Sorry dude, I thought it was Connors!" he yelled back before chugging the rest of the can. I leaned my elbows on the counter rubbing the sleep from my face, trying to pull myself together. Every since she left I hadn't exactly been myself, though I didn't want to admit it, I knew people noticed. I felt Wishbones cold nose against my leg and knew he wanted to go out. I looked down as he sat, his head turned to side staring up at me.
"Hey, I'm gonna shower and take Wishbone for a walk" I announced heading back toward the bathroom.
"Thanks for the play by play," Andrea joked as she played with Kian's hair as he ignored her. He was too into the game to understand what was going on around him, his only goal was to beat Ricky; something he had yet to accomplish in his lifetime.
I let the warm water beat down on my face, trying to clear my mind of the thoughts of her, even if only for a moment. I threw on a towel, peaking out the door for girls before making a dash for my room. I glanced back behind me to make sure that I had turned off the bathroom light, before I felt myself run into warm skin. I whipped my head around so quickly I'm surprised I didn't break my neck. I saw a pile of blonde hair and limbs on the ground. "Shit! I'm sorry! Oh fuck are you okay?" I said grabbing the hand of who I assumed was Jenn.
"I'm fine, I didn't know this was a highway or I would have looked both ways before crossing!" an unfamiliar voice laughed. She pushed her hair out of her face, pulling herself up off the ground.
"Somebody should have told you, this is the hallway we use for track practice!" I laughed taking in the beautiful girl in front of me. She was tall, blonde, tan skinned, her smile so wide it engulfed her face. Though her eyes wer brown, they were bright, warm, and inviting. Everything about her screamed beauty and happiness.
"Well didn't anyone tell you, I'm new to the team! Put me in coach, I just took a minor tumble!" she laughed, smiling wider.
"Well you're in luck, this team is so small it's almost nonexsistant so we surely have room for you," I laughed, looking down to her dirty converse sneakers before realizing I was in a bath towel.
"Well I heard the team was hitting the showers, so I assumed now would be a good time to get in some extra practice, ya know?" she motioned running movements before glancing down at the towel wrapped around my waist.
"Oh trying to out do the competition, I see, I see" I laughed. We were interrupted by an ear bleeding scream coming from the living room, a frequency so high it had to be Kian.
"They really get into their Mario Kart around here don't they?" she said pointing back toward the living room, as Connor turned down the hallway.
"Sorry I had to see Kian lose one more time, totally worth it! Every though I'm now partially deaf," Connor said rubbing his ears. "Let me run upstairs and grab some stuff and then I'll be ready to go!" he said dashing up to his room. Of course, I thought, this girl was Connor's. It all made sense now.
"Oh you know Connor?" I questioned, trying not to let the disappointment slip out in my voice.
"Yeah," she said confused, "We're filming a bit for Awesomeness today, he offered to give me a ride to the studio. Little did I know that it would involve being trampled by a half naked boy!"
"I'm not naked!" I yelled.
"Your boobs are showing," she whispered.
"I don't have boobs!" I said glancing down to my chest.
"Okay, totally ready this time I swear!" Connor laughed coming down the stairs, "You ready?"
"Yeah of course!" she smiled back.
"Sweet, let me just grab my keys from the kitchen and we shall be on our way!" he said sprinting down the hall.
"Well it was nice running into you," I laughed heading toward my bedroom. "I'm Jc by the way."
"I know who you are!" she laughed, "And now I know what your boobs look like."
"Just don't post the pictures on Tumblr!" I laughed turning to look at her once more before heading toward my room.
"Jc?" she said softly, I turned. "I'm Lia."
